Introduction to Laboratory Heating Equipment
Date: 2022-05-24Read: 0

Heating equipment is a device composed of heating elements and their accessories. Heating equipment uses metal to generate eddy currents in an alternating magnetic field to generate heat, and is generally used in metal heat treatment and other fields. There are many types and application ranges of heating equipment, including industrial heating equipment, household heating equipment, and laboratory heating equipment. Next, let's introduce in detail what laboratory heating equipment are available?

What are the heating equipment in the laboratory

1. Electric furnace

Electric stoves, like gas lamps, are commonly used heating equipment in laboratories. Electric furnaces mainly generate heat by passing current through a resistance wire (commonly known as nickel chromium alloy wire), which is often referred to as an electric furnace wire. There is another type of electric furnace that can adjust different heat generation, commonly known as a universal electric furnace. If there is no universal electric furnace in the laboratory, an ordinary electric furnace can also be connected to an autotransformer with equivalent or greater power. Adjusting the output voltage allows for arbitrary changes in current intensity, which in turn can alter the heat generation of the electric furnace, making it more convenient than a multi-purpose electric furnace.

2. Electric heating plate

An electric heating plate is actually a closed electric furnace, usually rectangular or circular in shape, with adjustable temperature. Multiple heating objects can be placed on the plate at the same time, and there is no open flame. Electric heating plate is a conventional digestion equipment recognized and accepted by domestic laboratories in the past 10 years. The electric heating plate has good temperature control, high stability, and strong safety, which can greatly help experimental personnel solve some problems faced by electric furnace digestion. However, electric heating plates also have some drawbacks: high energy consumption, low thermal energy utilization rate, small effective heating area, limited sample processing capacity, and weak uniformity of experimental results.

3. Electric heating sleeve

An electric heating jacket is a specialized equipment for heating round bottom flasks for distillation. The outer shell is made into a hemisphere shape, and the interior is composed of electric heating wires, insulation materials, and thermal insulation materials. The appropriate electric heating jacket is selected according to the size of the flask, and an autotransformer is often connected during use to adjust the required temperature.

4. Digestive furnace

The digestion furnace adopts a well type electric heating method, which heats the sample in the well type electric heating furnace to achieve better thermal effect, shortens the digestion time of the sample, and thus improves the detection speed of protein and other organic matter content determination. The heating element (module) adopts infrared quartz tube, which is resistant to strong acids and alkalis, explosion-proof, has a long service life, and meets CE standards. The characteristic is that the digestive tract has a large heating area, small temperature difference, good consistency in sample digestion, high thermal efficiency, and is conducive to sample digestion. The temperature control adopts a digital temperature controller, which controls the temperature accurately and heats up quickly. At the same time, harmful gases such as SO2 that overflow from the digestive tract are collected through the sewage collection pipe on the digestion furnace and discharged into the sewer through a filtration pump, effectively suppressing the escape of harmful gases.

5. Muffle furnace

The muffle furnace, also known as a high-temperature electric furnace, is commonly used in weighing analysis for tasks such as burning precipitation and determining ash content. The maximum operating temperature of the muffle furnace with thermal wire structure is 950 ℃, and it can be used up to 1000 ℃ in a short period of time. The heating element of the silicon carbon rod type muffle furnace is the silicon carbon rod inside the furnace, with a maximum operating temperature of 1350 ℃ and a commonly used working temperature of 1300 ℃. Muffle furnaces are divided into two types based on usage requirements: fixed temperature heating and programmed temperature heating.

6. Electric constant temperature water (oil) bath pot

Electric constant temperature water (oil) bath pots are commonly used for evaporation and constant temperature heating, with single and multiple pores. Commonly used for evaporation and constant temperature heating, available in both single pore and porous forms.

The above content is an introduction to the relevant knowledge of laboratory heating equipment for friends. I believe that through the introduction of the above content, everyone has a certain understanding of these laboratory heating equipment. Each laboratory heating equipment has a different purpose, and everyone should master the correct usage method when using it.
