Dispersible performance testing machineThe dispersion performance of materials is mainly tested through the shaking decomposition method, which includes the core steps of sample preparation, experimental condition setting, oscillation testing, screening and weighing, and result calculation. The specific steps are as follows:
1Dispersible performance testing machineTest Principle
Place the sample in a shaking box filled with tap water and simulate the hydraulic scouring effect during actual use through oscillation to disperse the material. After the oscillation is completed, collect the undissolved part through a sieve and weigh it to calculate the dispersion rate (i.e. the percentage of the dry weight of the sample passing through the sieve to the dry weight of the original sample).
2、 Test steps
Sample preparation
Finished product samples (such as wet wipes and dry wipes): Take 6 pieces as samples and weigh 10 pieces dry.
Non finished samples: Cut 6 pieces of 200mm × 150mm samples in the area above 100mm from the edge of the fabric, and weigh 10 pieces of dry weight samples.
The sample should be representative and avoid defects and wrinkles. For finished wet wipes, water-soluble additives need to be removed according to standard methods.
Experimental condition setting
Water temperature: The temperature of the tap water used for the experiment is (22 ± 3) ℃.
Shaking box: It usually consists of three plastic boxes with internal dimensions of 43cm in length, 33cm in width, and 30cm in height. It is fixed on a plane and oscillates back and forth at a speed of 26r/min driven by a cam and lever. Each plastic box is equipped with a transparent plastic cover to control water splashing and observe the testing process.
Vibration time: Shake the finished wet wipes for 60 minutes; Shake the finished or unfinished dry towel for 10 minutes.
Oscillation test
Place a sample into each plastic box of the shaking box and cover it with a transparent plastic lid.
Start the shaking box and begin the oscillation test.
Screening and weighing
After the oscillation is completed, transfer the sample onto a porous sieve with a pore size of 12.5mm.
Collect the samples left on the sieve and weigh them.
Result Calculation
Calculate the percentage of the dry weight of the sample passing through the sieve to the dry weight of the original sample, that is, the dispersion rate.
3、 Testing standards and requirements
Dry wipes and non dry/wet wipes finished samples: The decomposition percentage of at least 5 samples should be greater than 90%.
Wet wipe samples: The decomposition percentage of at least 5 samples should be greater than 70%.
