The usage method and function of ceramic slurry micro jet homogenizer
Date: 2025-09-22Read: 3
Ceramic slurry micro jet homogenizerThe usage method:
Preparation stage:
Check the equipment: Ensure that the disperser is in good condition, check whether the power connection is normal, and whether there are any foreign objects inside the machine.
Preparation materials: Prepare ceramic powder, dispersant, and other necessary auxiliary materials such as water, solvents, anti settling agents, defoamers, etc.
Determine the formula: Determine the amount and sequence of various materials to be added based on the performance requirements of the ceramic slurry. For example, when preparing filler slurry, water, titanium dioxide, barium sulfate powder, feldspar powder, wollastonite powder, dispersant, anti settling agent, and defoamer can be added to the disperser in a certain proportion.
Startup and initial mixing:
Connect power: Press the start button of the disperser to start the dispersion process. At the beginning, the stirring speed is low to achieve a stable working state of the machine.
Preliminary mixing: Mix the materials evenly to prepare for the subsequent dispersion process.
Acceleration and dispersion:
Gradual acceleration: When the machine reaches a stable state, gradually accelerate the rotation speed of the disperser according to the properties and dispersion degree of the material. The control of rotational speed can be achieved by adjusting the speed of the motor.
Add dispersant: During the stirring process, add an appropriate amount of dispersant as needed to improve the dispersibility and stability of the slurry. The selection of dispersant should be determined based on the characteristics of ceramic powder and slurry system. For example, ammonium polyacrylate (NH ₄ PAA) and other dispersants can be used for alumina slurry.
Observation of dispersion: Always observe the dispersion of the material. If clumps or particles are not dispersed, adjust the rotation speed or continue to add dispersants. At the same time, pay close attention to the operation of the machine, such as whether the motor temperature, sound, etc. are normal.
Grinding and refinement (optional):
Using grinding equipment: For ceramic slurries that require finer particle size, they can be dispersed in a disperser and then introduced into grinding equipment such as a sand mill for grinding. For example, lithium battery ceramic separator slurry generally needs to be ground to a particle size of less than 20 μ m, or even up to the nanometer level.
Control grinding parameters: Based on the characteristics of the material and grinding requirements, control the speed, grinding time, grinding medium and other parameters of the grinding equipment to obtain the ideal particle size distribution.
Shutdown and cleaning:
Shutdown operation: When the material is evenly dispersed and reaches the required particle size, press the stop button of the disperser to end the dispersion process. After shutdown, turn off the power.
Cleaning equipment: Use clean solvents to clean the interior and related components of the disperser to prevent residue from affecting the next dispersion. At the same time, inspect and maintain the machine to ensure its normal operation and extend its service life.
The role of ceramic slurry micro jet homogenizer:
Improving the dispersibility of the slurry: Through the stirring and dispersing effect of the disperser, the ceramic powder is uniformly dispersed in the liquid medium, breaking the agglomeration between particles and making the slurry have good dispersibility and stability. This helps to avoid problems such as uneven slurry and poor flowability caused by agglomeration or flocculation, providing a good foundation for subsequent molding and sintering processes.
Improving the rheological properties of ceramic slurries: The combined action of dispersants and dispersers can regulate the rheological properties of ceramic slurries, such as reducing viscosity and improving flowability. This makes it easier for the slurry to fill the mold during the molding process, reducing the occurrence of defects and improving the molding quality.
Ensure product quality: Uniformly dispersed ceramic slurry can obtain high-performance ceramic products with complex shapes, small shrinkage of the sintered body, uniform bulk density, and stable performance during the sintering process. The function of a disperser helps to improve the density, mechanical properties, and surface smoothness of ceramic products, and reduce the occurrence of defects after sintering.
Improve production efficiency: The disperser can achieve fast and efficient dispersion of ceramic slurry, shorten the production cycle, and improve production efficiency. At the same time, stable slurry performance also helps to reduce the scrap rate in the production process and lower production costs.
