Odor electronic nose technology is an advanced technology that simulates the biological olfactory system. It uses a specific sensor array to sense and identify chemical components in gases, thereby achieving rapid and accurate detection of odor. The following is an analysis of the key points of odor electronic nose technology:
Sensor technology: The core of odor electronic nose technology is the sensor array, which can simulate the sensing mechanism of biological noses and respond to chemical components in gases. Different types of sensors can detect different gas components, such as metal oxide sensors, conductive polymer sensors, etc. The selection and design of sensors are crucial for the performance of electronic noses, requiring high sensitivity, high selectivity, and good stability.
Signal processing technology: The signals generated by sensor arrays need to undergo preprocessing and pattern recognition steps to be converted into understandable results. Signal processing technology includes signal amplification, filtering, digitization, and pattern recognition technology based on machine learning algorithms. These technologies can help electronic noses extract useful information from complex signals, enabling qualitative and quantitative analysis of foul odors.
Database and comparison technology: Odor electronic nose technology usually requires the establishment of a database containing various gas components and corresponding response characteristics. In practical applications, electronic noses compare the detected gas components with data in databases to determine the type and concentration of odors. The establishment and updating of databases are important components of the continuous development of electronic nose technology.
System integration and optimization: Odor electronic nose technology requires the integration and optimization of various parts such as sensor arrays, signal processing systems, databases, etc., to form an efficient and reliable overall system. In addition, it is necessary to consider the portability, durability, and compatibility with other monitoring systems of the equipment.
On July 25, 2023, our company's technical team once again visited an environmental monitoring center in Tianjin and completed the installation and commissioning of the German Olfosense odor monitoring system. They provided detailed explanations on the operation and maintenance of the equipment. At the same time, a follow-up was conducted on the usage of the 5 German Olfosense odor monitoring systems installed by the customer. In depth communication was conducted with the company's technical personnel on site to understand the equipment usage status, and maintenance work was carried out on each device to ensure the effectiveness of the output data and truly solve the customer's problem. The technical personnel of the center affirmed the performance, stability, and monitoring accuracy of the Olfosense odor monitoring system.

The OLFOSENSE series odor monitoring device is a system developed by AIRSENSE in Germany specifically for monitoring environmental odor pollution. It can monitor the concentration values of hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and total organic volatile compounds (VOCs) in a single gas and the dimensionless OU value of odor concentration in real time. The system mainly relies on a mixed array of multiple types of sensors for analysis and monitoring. There are four types of MOS metal oxide sensors, one type of PID photoionization detector, and two types of electrochemical sensors. It can be portable for mobile monitoring or continuously monitored online 24 hours a day. Multiple devices are networked and distributed for odor monitoring, which can achieve all functions from gas collection, monitoring, model matching, analysis and calculation, result display, data transmission, and backend data management.
