Application of German PEN3 electronic nose in odor detection of Sinopec
Odor pollution is an unavoidable problem for petrochemical enterprises. This study elaborates on the types of odors and their harm to human health, briefly introduces the methods of odor detection, and based on the pollution characteristics of the petrochemical industry, proposes the advantages of the German PEN3 electronic nose in odor intensity detection. By detecting the environmental atmosphere of different road sections, factory areas, and devices, the degree of odor pollution can be compared, and the response of the electronic nose sensor to odor components is also consistent with the actual situation. By establishing template files and using partial least squares regression (PLS), qualitative judgment and quantitative prediction of unknown samples can be achieved separately, and it can also issue warnings for abnormal emissions. In short, using the German PEN3 electronic nose can solve many problems in the detection and control of odor intensity in the petrochemical industry.
