Understand the hazards of oil contamination
Date: 2024-08-26Read: 1

Research has shown that 70-90% of mechanical failures in hydraulic systems are caused by wave pressure oil contamination. Therefore, hydraulic systems are particularly sensitive to the reaction of pollutants. Excessive accumulation of contaminated solid particles in the oil can clog the oil filter, scratch seals, block or wear components, and high concentrations of solid particles can increase the working temperature of hydraulic oil. Causing serious harm to the working environment of equipment lubrication and hydraulic transmission.

----Backclogging filter: Large pollutants can clog the filter, causing blockages in the oil circuit, resulting in a vacuum state inside the pump and the formation of air pockets in the oil bubbles. Causing sudden and gradual failure of hydraulic components.
----Sudden failure of valve components: Due to pollutants blocking the sliding surface of the valve piston, direct resistance is generated, causing sudden failure and causing the equipment to stop working in an instant.
----Gradual failure of valve components: The clearance between the sliding surface of the valve piston is the smallest (0.5-5 microns), and a large solid particle is crushed into several tens or even hundreds of small particles under high speed and pressure. After running back to the oil tank due to wear and tear, it merges with the remaining dirt in the pipeline, and affects the solenoid valve, causing the sliding surface of the valve to be worn and scratched by high concentrations of solid pollutants, resulting in frictional resistance and gradual failure of the valve components.
----Gradual failure of pump components: The pump components experience gradual failure due to large pollutants clogging the filter screen, poor oil flow, vacuum state inside the pump, cavitation of bubbles, blockage and scratching of the sliding surface of the components by pollutants, agitation and vibration, and pressure pulsation. The pump components gradually wear out, leading to a decrease in efficiency, overheating, biting and stopping, resulting in gradual failure of the components.
----Gradual failure of motor: The motor is overloaded, overheated, and disconnected due to the influence of pollutants, resulting in gradual failure of the motor.
----Gradual failure of oil cylinder: On the one hand, pollutants cause damage to the piston components of the oil cylinder, resulting in internal leakage and a decrease in mechanical energy work, leading to gradual failure of the oil cylinder; On the other hand, the oil cylinder rod and seals are leaking and polluting the environment externally. Although oil pollutants may be small, due to the serious harm caused by oil pollution, hydraulic systems have become a "disaster area" for oil pollution. Usually, it's much more serious than people imagine, and the harm of pollution is surprising!
