Have you learned about the measurement steps of the circular compression mold?
Date: 2025-03-05Read: 1
Circular compression mold is a type of mold used to press powder or granular materials into circular sheet samples, which has a wide range of application prospects and important value in industrial production. By understanding its functional characteristics and related knowledge, it is possible to better select and use it, improve production efficiency and product quality.
Measurement steps for circular compression mold:
-Check the equipment: Ensure that all components are intact and undamaged, especially the key parts such as the upper and lower pressing heads and mold sleeves, for any damage, wear, or deformation. At the same time, check if the tablet press is working properly and if all connecting parts are securely fastened.
-Cleaning the mold: Use alcohol or other suitable solvents to clean the oil stains, impurities, etc. on the surface of the mold, and wipe it dry with a clean cloth to ensure that the mold surface is clean and dry.
-Preparation of samples: Grind and dry the samples that need to be pressed to achieve uniform particle size and meet the required moisture content.
-Place the sample: Spread the processed sample powder evenly on the lower pressing head of the mold. If vacuum pumping is required, the upper pressure head O-ring can be pressed against the mold sleeve, and a vacuum hose can be inserted into the exhaust nozzle (usually no vacuum pumping is required).
-Assembling the mold: Place the lower pressing head containing the sample into the mold sleeve, then gently rotate the upper pressing head to ensure a good fit with the lower pressing head, ensuring that the sample is evenly and smoothly distributed in the mold.
-Placing the mold: Place the assembled mold in the center position of the tablet press's worktable and adjust the position of the mold to align with the press head of the tablet press.
-Pressurization operation: Slowly adjust the pressure of the tablet press according to the properties of the sample and the requirements for tablet pressing. Generally, the pressure should not exceed 10 tons (specific pressure should be compared with the pressure reference table of the tablet press used), and maintain the pressure for 1-2 minutes to allow the sample to form in the mold.
-Remove the mold holder: After the pressing is completed, stop the tablet press and remove the mold holder.
-Remove the pressure head: Place the pressure head on the mold sleeve in the center of the tablet press worktable, rotate the tablet press screw by hand to raise the upper pressure head, and thus remove the formed annular tablet from the mold.
-Cleaning the mold: Timely clean the residual samples on the mold to avoid any impact on the next use. If the sample is corrosive, it should be cleaned in a timely manner to prevent rusting of the mold.
-Check the mold: Check whether the mold is damaged or deformed, and repair or replace it in a timely manner if there are any problems.
