Graphite oil tanks are widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, mechanical processing and other fields due to their excellent corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity and good thermal stability. However, improper storage or operational errors may lead to performance degradation and even security risks. The following provides a detailed explanation from two aspects: storage management and usage standards.
1、 Scientific storage: the fundamental guarantee for extending lifespan
1. Environmental control
-Temperature and humidity: It should be stored in a dry and ventilated indoor environment with a relative humidity of ≤ 60% to avoid surface oxidation or internal moisture absorption and expansion caused by humidity. The ambient temperature should be controlled between 5-35 ℃, away from high-temperature heat sources and areas with direct sunlight, to prevent the aging and failure of resin adhesives.
-Avoid light and corrosion: Long term exposure to ultraviolet light can accelerate the destruction of the carbon structure on the surface of graphite. It is recommended to use a non transparent dust cover for coverage, especially suitable for outdoor temporary storage scenarios.
2. Stacking and Support
-When stacking multiple layers, special pallets or wooden frames should be used, and soft cushioning materials (such as rubber pads) should be placed between each layer. It is forbidden to directly stack and cause edge compression damage. Oil tanks with large individual weights should be placed flat on a flat surface, and anti slip gaskets should be installed at the bottom to prevent stress concentration and cracking caused by tilting.
3. Isolation and protection
-It is strictly prohibited to store it in the same warehouse as strong acids, strong bases, and strong oxidants, as volatile chemicals may penetrate graphite pores and pose a hidden danger. The storage area should be equipped with fire-fighting equipment, and warning signs should be set up to maintain a safe distance from other materials.
2、 Standardized use: key to ensuring safety and efficiency
1. Pre installation inspection
-Check if the model parameters match the operating requirements, with a focus on inspecting the integrity of the tank body: visually inspect for cracks or missing corners, and determine if there are any voids by tapping and listening for sound. The flange interface plane should be flat, and the sealing surface should not have scratches.
2. Key points of operation process
-Gradual heating: When the new tank is first used, it should be slowly heated to the working temperature (recommended heating rate<50 ℃ per hour) to avoid rapid cooling and heating that may cause thermal shock cracking.
-Media compatibility: Confirm that the oil contained is compatible with graphite material. Mineral oil with high sulfur content may accelerate graphite oxidation. It is recommended to use refined low sulfur lubricating oil.
-Liquid level control: The oil filling height shall not exceed the design maximum liquid level line, and at least 10% expansion space shall be reserved to prevent overflow due to heat.
3. Operation and maintenance
-Daily inspection: Check the flange connection for leaks and the bracket bolts for looseness daily; Clean the breather valve filter every month to prevent dust blockage from affecting pressure balance.
-Periodic maintenance: Clean the inner wall every quarter after emptying, use neutral cleaning agent to wipe, and prohibit scratching with hard tools such as steel wire balls. Perform non-destructive testing (such as penetrant testing) annually, with a focus on welds and areas of weak stress.
4. Abnormal handling
-Stop immediately if slight leakage is found, and replace the gasket or tighten the bolt after emptying the medium; Serious damage needs to be returned to the factory for repair, and self welding repair is prohibited.
-When a sudden fire occurs, prioritize cutting off the power supply and using dry powder fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire. Do not directly flush the high-temperature oil tank with water.
3、 Disposal and Record Traceability
Scrapped graphite oil tanks should be treated according to hazardous waste standards, and protective equipment should be worn during the crushing process. Establish a full lifecycle archive to record each maintenance, component replacement, and abnormal event, providing data support for subsequent selection.
