The maintenance method of ductless fume hood is crucial, as it directly affects the performance, service life, and safety environment of the fume hood in the laboratory. Here are some key maintenance points:
1. Daily cleaning and maintenance
-Internal cleaning: Use appropriate cleaning agents and tools to regularly clean the countertops, wall panels, deflectors, and other parts inside the fume hood to remove dust, stains, and possible chemical residues. Pay special attention to cleaning corners and gaps to prevent dust accumulation. For stubborn stains, a mild detergent can be used, but it is important to ensure that it does not damage the material of the fume hood.
-External wiping: Use a damp cloth or specialized cleaning agent to wipe the external surface of the fume hood, keeping it clean and beautiful. For metal materials such as stainless steel, avoid using highly corrosive cleaning agents to prevent rusting.
-Filter maintenance: Regularly inspect and clean the filter according to the frequency of use and environmental pollution level of the fume hood. It is generally recommended to clean the filter every 3-6 months. If the filter is severely clogged or has reached its service life, it should be replaced in a timely manner. When cleaning or replacing filters, follow the operating instructions to ensure proper installation and good sealing.
2. Maintenance of mechanical components
-Motor inspection: Regularly check the operating status of the motor, including sound, vibration, and temperature. If any abnormalities are found, professional personnel should be promptly hired for repair or replacement to avoid affecting the ventilation effect and equipment life.
-Wind turbine maintenance: Clean the dust and debris on the surface of the wind turbine, check the balance and fastening of the wind turbine. If the wind turbine is loose or unbalanced, it may cause increased noise and unstable air flow, and corresponding adjustments or replacements are needed.
-Bearing lubrication: For fume hoods with bearings, an appropriate amount of lubricating oil should be added regularly to reduce wear and ensure smooth operation of the bearings.
3. Electrical system inspection
-Power monitoring: Regularly check the power cords, plugs, and sockets of the fume hood to ensure a secure connection and no damage or leakage. At the same time, pay attention to the stability of voltage and current to avoid damage to equipment caused by voltage fluctuations.
-Control panel testing: Check whether the buttons, switches, and display screens on the control panel are working properly and whether their functions are complete. If there is a malfunction, promptly contact the manufacturer or professional personnel for repair.
-Line organization: Regularly organize the wires inside the fume hood to prevent confusion, entanglement, or compression, ensuring the safety and neatness of the wires.
4. Performance testing and adjustment
-Wind speed measurement: Use a professional anemometer to regularly measure the surface wind speed of the fume hood to ensure that it is within the specified range (generally 0.4-0.6m/s). If the wind speed does not meet the requirements, it is necessary to adjust the fan speed or check the resistance of the ventilation system.
-Filtration efficiency testing: By using professional testing methods or instruments, the filtration efficiency of the fume hood is tested to ensure that it can effectively filter out harmful substances in the air. If the filtration efficiency decreases, it may be due to filter blockage or aging, and the filter needs to be replaced in a timely manner.
-Airtightness inspection: Check the sealing of the doors, windows, pipeline connections, and other parts of the fume hood to ensure no leakage. Smoke generators or other detection methods can be used for air tightness testing. If any problems are found, they should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
5. Precautions for use
-Correct operation: Operators should strictly follow the instructions of the fume hood to avoid unnecessary activities or storing too many items inside the fume hood, so as not to affect the ventilation effect and airflow distribution.
-Avoid prolonged no-load operation: Prolonged no-load operation may affect the service life and performance of the fume hood, and the fume hood should be closed when not in use.
-Preventing chemical leakage: During experimental operations, attention should be paid to preventing chemicals from leaking outside the fume hood. Once a leak occurs, immediate measures should be taken to handle it and clean up any residue inside the fume hood.
