Online and real-time tracking of intermolecular interactions
More and more published scientific literature has demonstrated the technical reliability of QCM-D systems. The core of this technology is the oscillation of quartz crystals at a specific frequency under load voltage. When the mass on the crystal changes, the resonant frequency of oscillation also changes accordingly. Through this method, mass changes can be measured at nanogram level sensitivity.
This Q-Sense design can simultaneously measure the dissipation factor, providing structural and viscoelastic information of the film. It can provide information such as the molecular structure, thickness, and water content of the adsorption membrane. In addition, changes in the surface adsorption layer before and after neutralization can also be detected. The dissipation factor refers to the speed at which the frequency of the oscillating crystal decreases to 0 after the circuit is disconnected.
Any substance that can form a thin film on the sensor can undergo label free testing, including polymers, metals, and chemically modified surfaces. The real-time testing system can provide up to 200 data points per second.
