Bag filter is a dust removal equipment that uses filter bags to achieve dust separation. The core principle is "filter interception", and the specific workflow is divided into four steps:
Dust laden gas entering: The dust laden airflow enters the box from the lower or side of the dust collector. Due to the decrease in airflow velocity, large particles of dust settle directly under gravity (pre-treatment), while the remaining dust diffuses upward with the airflow to the filter bag area.
Filtering and Separation: The filter bag (usually made of breathable materials such as synthetic fibers and fiberglass) is the core filtering element. When the airflow passes through the filter bag, dust is intercepted on the outer surface of the filter bag - small particles of dust are intercepted due to "screening effect" (particle size larger than the pores of the filter material), "inertial collision" (dust collides with the filter material when the airflow passes by), "diffusion effect" (small dust Brownian motion contacts the filter material), and other effects. The purified gas is discharged from the inside of the filter bag.
Dust cleaning process: As the filtration progresses, the thickening of the dust layer outside the filter bag will hinder the airflow, and regular dust cleaning is required. There are three common ways to clean dust:
Mechanical dust cleaning: vibrating the filter bag through a vibration device to remove the dust layer;
Pulse jet cleaning: using high-pressure air to instantly blow the inside of the filter bag, causing the filter bag to expand and deform, and the dust to be shaken off;
Backblowing cleaning: Introduce reverse airflow to change the pressure inside and outside the filter bag, causing the dust layer to peel off.
Dust collection: The fallen dust falls into the bottom ash hopper and is centrally discharged through the ash discharge device (such as a screw conveyor).
Its core advantage is that the filter bag can choose materials for different types of dust (such as industrial smoke and dust), with a filtration efficiency of over 99%. It is widely used in industrial fields such as chemical, metallurgical, and building materials.
