Common faults and solutions of spring torsion testing machine
Date: 2025-12-15Read: 0
The spring torsion testing machine is prone to malfunctions due to component wear and improper operation during long-term use. Timely troubleshooting and handling can ensure testing accuracy. The following are the core faults and corresponding solutions.
  1. The torque reading deviation is too largeThe fault manifests as an error between the detection data and the standard value exceeding the allowable range of ± 1%. Firstly, check the torque sensor for looseness or damage, then tighten the sensor connection bolts again. If there is still a deviation, recalibrate with a standard torque weight; Secondly, clean the oil and impurities between the sensor and the fixture to avoid obstruction of load transmission; If the calibration is invalid, contact the manufacturer to replace the sensor.
  2. Fixture slippage or sample deviationDuring testing, if the spring slips off the fixture or the axis deviates from the torsion center, it is often due to a mismatch between the fixture specifications and the sample. It is necessary to replace the appropriate fixture model and increase the clamping contact surface; If the clamp mouth is severely worn, the anti slip pattern of the clamp mouth can be polished or the clamp can be replaced; When clamping, it is necessary to ensure that the spring axis coincides with the torsion center line of the testing machine, and to pre tighten the fixture moderately to avoid loosening, slipping, or damaging the sample due to over tightening.
  3. Drive system lagging or abnormal noiseDuring equipment operation, there may be abnormal motor noise and fixture rotation jamming. Turn off the power first, check if the transmission screw and reducer are short of oil, and add special lubricating oil; Check the connection circuit between the servo motor and the drive controller, and tighten any loose joints; If the gear of the reducer is severely worn, the gear components need to be disassembled and replaced; If the motor does not move after starting, it is necessary to check whether the motor coil is burned out and repair or replace the motor in a timely manner.
  4. Abnormal or no change in angle displayThe angle encoder data is not updated or the values are fluctuating. Firstly, check if the connecting shaft between the encoder and the fixture is broken or slipping, and then re fix the connecting structure; Clean the dust and impurities on the encoder grating disk to avoid signal obstruction; If the encoder circuit has poor contact, the damaged cable needs to be replaced; After investigation, there is still no data, and the angle encoder needs to be replaced and recalibrated.
  5. Frequent triggering of overload protectionStart overload shutdown before reaching the set torque. First, confirm if the overload protection threshold is set too low and readjust it to 120% of the rated torque; Recheck if the sample clamping is eccentric, as eccentric loading can cause local torque overload; If the device sensor is triggered incorrectly, it is necessary to calibrate the sensor and check whether the protection circuit is short circuited.
Troubleshooting should follow the principle of "power-off inspection, from shallow to deep", and daily equipment cleaning and lubrication can significantly reduce the occurrence rate of failures.
