Multi camera 3D full field strain measurement system(MulticamDIC)

manyCamera full field strain measurement systemMulticam DIC collects speckle images of the surface of the object being measured from different perspectives through multiple synchronous cameras, and combines 3D reconstruction technology to achieve full field measurement of complex 3D deformation and dynamic mechanical behavior. Compared to single camera 2D DIC, multi camera systems are more effective in measuring dimensionsMeasurement accuracyThere are significant advantages in terms of spatial coverage and occlusion compensation.
Multicam DIC is a combination stereo device array digital image correlation (DIC) measurement system consisting of 4 or more (up to 16) USB3 or GigE cameras. This advanced, application specific measurement system enables testing engineersCapable of conducting large-scale and complex contour surface testing on sub components and structures.

Using multiple camerasOne of the main benefits of a DIC system is that the field of view (FoV) can be expanded to multiple square meters (up to approximately 25-30 square meters), using additional views provided by multiple cameras (without reducing spatial accuracy). This allows for complete measurement visualization of the entire component, object, and structure.
InIn the MulticamDIC system, cameras can be freely arranged in clustered arrays instead of paired arrangements. For example, compared to the FoV provided by a single stereo device DIC system (with the same spatial resolution), the FoV area of a multi camera DIC system using (16 cameras) can be magnified up to 8 times.

16 Camera DIC System
useThe MulticamDIC system can arrange, configure, and set multiple cameras in a cluster array for specific material testing applications. For example:
1)Single sided (planar) arrays can be configured to test large-scale and complex contour surfaces,Namely wings, blades, beams, and walls
2)Can be configured as single-sided (cylindrical)/Spherical arrays are used to test circular/cylindrical/spherical surfaces (i.e. for pressurized cylinders or inflatable objects), and double-sided (biplane) arrays can be configured to measure true strain by measuring cross-sections. The advantage of the MulticamDIC system is that it can use DIC with large, complex profile surfaces and double-sided geometric shapes for measurement, otherwise a single stereo device DIC system would not be able to perform measurements.
useThe material testing applications conducted by the MulticamDIC system include simple quasi-static tensile, compression, buckling, bending, and fracture mechanics testing, as well as low-speed fatigue and inflation pressure testing. The MulticamDIC system adopts five core advanced algorithms and concepts from Istra4D.
1)Cluster binding adjustment algorithm(CBAA)
2)Central reference camera perspective(CRCP)
3)Multi camera cluster method(MCA)
4)Object alignment parameterization(OAP)
5)Multi camera subset reference tracking(MSURET)
