Difference between Modbus Protocol and Private Protocol in Science Popularization

The Modbus protocol is a publicly available standardized protocol widely used in the field of industrial automation, with cross vendor compatibility and support for universal communication between devices; Private protocols are developed by device manufacturers themselves and are only compatible with specific hardware or systems, with high flexibility but limited compatibility. Modbus facilitates multi device interconnection and an open ecosystem, while proprietary protocols provide customized features or performance optimization, but can easily lead to vendor technology lock-in.
