Precautions for operating an air circulation box furnace
Date: 2025-09-22Read: 1
Air circulation box furnaceBy forcing air circulation to achieve efficient and uniform heating, it is widely used in fields such as metal heat treatment and electronic component curing. To ensure the safe operation of equipment, extend its service life, and ensure process quality, the following precautions must be strictly followed during operation:
1、 Start up and preheating stage
Oven used for the first time or after long-term disuse
Purpose: To remove moisture from the furnace and prevent cracking of the furnace lining due to moisture evaporation during heating.
Operation:
Set the temperature to 120 ℃ and maintain it for 1 hour;
Heat up to 300 ℃ and maintain for 2 hours;
Cool naturally to room temperature before normal use.
Attention: During the baking process, it is forbidden to open the furnace door to prevent cold air from entering and causing uneven stress in the furnace.
Daily start-up preheating
Check if the instrument is in standby mode and confirm that the circulating fan is running normally before turning on the heating function.
Avoid setting high temperatures directly, and gradually increase the temperature in sections (such as heating up 50 ℃ every 30 minutes) to reduce the impact of thermal stress on the furnace.
2、 Temperature control and operation monitoring
Temperature range limitation
It is strictly prohibited to exceed the rated temperature of the equipment (such as 450 ℃, 650 ℃, or 850 ℃), otherwise it may damage the heating elements, furnace lining, or circulation system.
If the process requires over temperature operation, it is necessary to contact the manufacturer to evaluate the feasibility of equipment modification.
Temperature uniformity maintenance
Regularly check the operation status of the circulating fan to ensure no abnormal noise or jamming.
Avoid stacking workpieces too densely in the furnace, which may obstruct the hot air circulation path.
If the temperature uniformity decreases (such as deviation exceeding ± 5 ℃), it is necessary to clean the fan blades or adjust the air duct design.
Real time monitoring and recording
Regularly calibrate the instrument display values using high-precision thermometers (such as thermocouples).
Record key process parameters (such as heating rate, holding time) for easy traceability of quality issues.
3、 Loading and retrieval operations
Loading specifications
Workpiece size: Ensure that the workpiece is kept at least 50mm away from the furnace wall and heating element to avoid local overheating.
Loading capacity: not exceeding 80% of the furnace volume to prevent blockage of the hot air circulation channel.
Material compatibility:
Avoid directly heating materials containing corrosive elements such as sulfur and phosphorus in the furnace;
If it is necessary to operate in a protective gas environment (such as nitrogen or argon), the gas supply system must be turned on in advance and the airtightness verified.
取料安全
Wear heat-resistant gloves and goggles to prevent burns or splash injuries.
Use specialized tools (such as long handled clamps) to retrieve and place workpieces, avoiding direct contact with high-temperature components by hand.
If harmful gases (such as CO) remain in the furnace, ventilation should be carried out first before opening the furnace door.
4、 Cooling and shutdown management
Natural cooling priority
After the process is completed, turn off the heating power but keep the circulating fan running, and use the waste heat to naturally cool down to below 500 ℃.
Forced air or water cooling is only suitable for emergency situations, and the cooling rate should be controlled (such as ≤ 50 ℃/h) to prevent furnace cracking.
Maintenance shutdown
After cooling to room temperature, turn off the circulating fan and main power supply.
Clean up residual oxides, slag, and other materials in the furnace to prevent corrosion of the lining or blockage of the air duct.
Check if the sealing strip of the furnace door is intact, and replace it promptly if it is aged or damaged.
5、 Equipment maintenance and upkeep
routine inspection
Check the lubrication condition of the circulating fan bearings every week and replenish high-temperature resistant lubricating grease.
Clean the ash accumulation at the bottom of the furnace every month to avoid affecting the efficiency of hot air circulation.
Check the connection wires of heating elements quarterly for looseness to prevent poor contact from causing fires.
periodic calibration
Every year, a professional organization is commissioned to calibrate the temperature controller to ensure that the temperature control accuracy meets the process requirements.
Verify the function of the over temperature limiter to ensure that the power can be automatically cut off in case of abnormal temperature.
Long term disuse protection
Clean the furnace and apply rust proof oil to prevent metal parts from rusting.
Disconnect the power supply and cover the equipment with a dust cover to prevent dust from entering the circulation system.
6、 Safety protection and emergency response
personal protection
Operators are required to wear protective equipment such as fire-resistant clothing, heat-resistant gloves, and safety shoes.
Do not stack flammable materials near the furnace and maintain good ventilation in the work area.
Emergency Response Plan
Overtemperature alarm: Immediately turn off the heating power and check if the circulating fan is faulty or if the workpieces are improperly stacked.
Leakage protection: If the device triggers a leakage circuit breaker, do not force power on. Check for insulation damage or poor grounding.
Fire treatment: Turn off the power and gas sources, use dry powder fire extinguishers to extinguish initial fires, and strictly prohibit using water to extinguish fires.
7、 Special process precautions
Protecting the gas environment
If heating is required in inert gas or reducing gas, the air inside the furnace should be replaced with nitrogen in advance to prevent oxidation or explosion.
The gas supply system needs to be equipped with pressure gauges and flow meters to ensure stable gas flow.
Corrosive material treatment
When heating materials containing chlorine, fluorine, and other elements, it is necessary to use corrosion-resistant furnace lining (such as silicon carbide) and shorten the equipment's service life.
Clean the furnace immediately after the process is completed to avoid residual corrosion of metal components.
By strictly adhering to the above operating procedures, significant improvements can be madeAir circulation box furnaceThe operational stability and process repeatability are improved, while reducing equipment failure rates and safety risks.
