Instructions for using the mixer in the coagulation beaker experiment
Date: 2025-05-23Read: 1
Concrete beaker experimental mixerIt is an important equipment used in water treatment experiments to simulate coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation processes. The optimal type and dosage of chemicals are determined by optimizing the stirring conditions.
  Concrete beaker experimental mixerUsage:
1、 Experimental preparation
Equipment inspection
Confirm that the power cord, temperature sensor, and mixing shaft of the mixer are connected properly, and the grounding wire is connected.
Check if the mixing blade is clean and free of residual chemicals or dirt.
Confirm that the beaker (usually a 1000mL organic glass cup) and the dosing test tube (such as a diameter of 15 × 80mm) are not damaged.
Raw water and chemical preparation
Raw water: Take representative water samples (such as river water and sewage plant inlet) and inject them into 6 beakers to the same liquid level (such as 800mL).
Reagent: Prepare different reagents (such as PAC, PAM) or reagents from different manufacturers according to the experimental purpose, and dilute them with volumetric flasks to the appropriate concentration (such as 10g/L).
Parallel experiment: Prepare 2 parallel samples of each drug, with a total of 6 test tubes, labeled and numbered separately.
2、 Operation steps
Install beaker and stirring blade
Place 6 beakers symmetrically on the base of the mixer, ensuring that the center of the beakers is aligned with the mixing shaft.
Install the mixing blade and adjust the height to about 1-2cm below the liquid level (to avoid the blade touching the bottom of the cup or exposing the liquid level).
dosing
Use a pipette or syringe to add different medications to the corresponding beaker at preset dosages (such as 2ppm, 4ppm, 6ppm, etc.).
Parallel sample: Add the same volume of medication to two beakers containing the same medication.
Quick mixing: Start the mixer and stir at high speed (such as 200rpm) for 10-30 seconds to quickly disperse the medication.
Set mixing program
Program type: Select the program based on the actual process (such as slow stirring to form flocs for conventional coagulation, and higher rotation speed for enhanced coagulation).
Parameter settings:
Rapid stirring: 200-300rpm, 1-3 minutes (dissolution and mixing of the agent).
Slow stirring: 30-60rpm, 10-20 minutes (floc formation and growth).
Static sedimentation: Turn off the stirring and let it stand for 15-30 minutes (observe the settling performance of the flocs).
Storage program: Store the set program in the blender (such as MY3000 series supporting 20 sets of programs).
Start mixing
Press the 'Start' button, and the mixer will run according to the preset program.
Observe the mixing process to ensure there are no abnormal vibrations or noises.
Sampling and testing
Sampling time: 1-2 minutes before the end of stirring, take a sample from the middle of the beaker (avoiding surface floating slag and bottom sediment).
Detection indicators: Detect turbidity, COD, pH, Zeta potential, etc. according to the experimental purpose.
Parallel sample analysis: Compare the results of two beakers with the same reagent to evaluate the repeatability of the experiment.
