Timely resolution of laboratory information management platform issues is the key to ensuring efficient data flow
Date: 2025-09-15Read: 18

The laboratory information management platform integrates sample management, task allocation, data collection, report generation, and quality control, greatly improving laboratory operational efficiency and data traceability. However, in the process of system deployment, user operation, and data interaction, usage is often hindered due to confusion of permissions, process lag, or interface anomalies. Mastering the diagnosis and solution methods of common problems in laboratory information management platform is the key to ensuring efficient data flow.

1. User unable to log in or insufficient permissions
First, confirm if the account status is activated and if the password is entered correctly (case sensitive). If you forget your password, reset it through the "Retrieve Password" function. If prompted with 'No access to module', please contact the system administrator to check the role allocation in the background and confirm whether the user has been granted the corresponding functional permissions (such as sample input and report review). Avoid using public accounts for multiple logins to prevent permission conflicts.
2. Sample process stalled or task not automatically pushed
Check if the workflow settings are complete and if the person responsible for the current step has been designated. If the task is not triggered, it may be because the preconditions have not been met (such as not uploading the original records). Manually refresh the page or restart the browser and try again. Confirm that the system time is synchronized with the server to avoid process delays caused by time deviations.
3. Instrument data cannot be automatically imported
Mostly caused by interface configuration errors. Check whether the instrument has enabled data output function (such as LIS, ASTM protocol), and whether the communication cable or network connection is normal. Check if the interface parameters (IP address, port, data format) match in LIMS. For newly connected devices, it is necessary to reconfigure the driver or middleware. It is recommended to regularly test the data transmission link.
4. Report generation failed or format is incorrect
Check if the template is damaged or if the version is incompatible. Confirm that all required data fields have been filled in, especially key information such as signature fields and standard numbers. If using a Word template, turn off the automatic field update feature. It is recommended to preview the report in advance and promptly correct the template layout if any problems are found.
5. The system runs slowly or lags
It may be due to excessive concurrent users or high database load. Suggest staggered use or upgrading server hardware (CPU, memory). Clean up historical logs and temporary files, optimize database indexes. Avoid uploading oversized attachments (such as videos and original spectrograms) in the system, and use external link storage.
6. Data loss or accidental deletion
The laboratory information management platform usually has operation logs and data recovery functions. Immediately contact the administrator to view the audit trail and locate the time point of the misoperation. Restore specified records from the backup database. Do not modify the database content on your own. Suggest enabling automatic backup (once a day) and storing remotely.
