Sipel tweezers usage guidelines
Date: 2025-09-25Read: 35
1Sipel tweezersGeneral Operating Standards
Personal protection and cleanliness
Wear anti-static gloves before operation (if there are no special process requirements) to avoid contamination of tweezers and components with oil or sweat on the hands.
Before using tweezers to touch electronic components, it is necessary to confirm their cleanliness. If the tweezers fall off, are touched by hands, or come into contact with sources of contamination (such as acid tanks or sinks), they must be cleaned and dried immediately before use.
Storage and retrieval
The tweezers adopt a "pen holding" posture to ensure flexible operation and controllable force.
When picking up components, the order is "from back to front"; When placing it back, move from front to back to avoid scratching the surface of the component.
After use, the tweezers should be returned to the designated area and not placed randomly. Special process tweezers need to be stored separately to avoid cross contamination.
Usage taboos
It is strictly prohibited to use tweezers for non design purposes (such as prying objects or gripping heavy objects).
Do not allow tweezers to come into contact with corrosive environments such as acid tanks and deionized water (D.I WATER) tanks to prevent material damage or electrostatic failure.
2、 Special specification for anti-static tweezers
Material and Applicability
Sipel anti-static tweezers are made of conductive plastic or special resin materials (such as ESD black anti-static resin), suitable for operating precision electronic components such as semiconductors and ICs.
The temperature resistance range is usually -40 ℃ to 240 ℃ (some models such as TIP-ESD-4 have a temperature resistance of 240 ℃), and it is necessary to avoid exceeding the limit temperature and causing material deformation.
Operation details
When gripping the chip, place the "short edge" (saw shaped head) on the front of the chip and the "long edge" (flat head) on the back, only holding the blank area of the chip to prevent damage to the circuit.
During the operation, it is necessary to keep the tweezers perpendicular to the components to avoid bending or breaking the components due to lateral force.
Maintenance and Calibration
Regularly check the anti-static performance of tweezers (such as surface resistance value) to ensure compliance with the 10 ⁶ -10 ⁹ Ω standard.
Use a specialized anti-static cloth or alcohol cotton ball during cleaning, and prohibit the use of organic solvents (such as acetone) to corrode materials.
3、 Special specification for wafer tweezers
Structure and Function
The head of wafer tweezers (such as 500E-SA) is designed with multi toothed claws (such as 5 teeth for 5-inch wafers) or limit posts to ensure clamping stability and prevent wafer slipping or damage.
The material is non-magnetic stainless steel (such as the handle part) or surface coating (such as PTFE coating anti sticking, high-temperature coating resistant to 620 ℃), which needs to be selected according to the process requirements.
operating procedure
Before gripping the wafer, ensure that there are no particles or burrs on the head of the tweezers to prevent scratching the surface of the wafer.
During operation, keep the tweezers parallel to the wafer plane and slowly apply pressure until the claws fully contact the edge of the wafer.
Avoid vibration or tilting during transportation to prevent wafer displacement or breakage.
Maintenance and Storage
After use, use a dust-free cloth to wipe the head of the tweezers and store them in an anti-static box to prevent dust from adhering.
Regularly check the wear of the teeth and claws. If the tooth height decreases by more than 30% or the tooth shape deforms, replace the tweezers immediately.
4、 Special specification for interchangeable tweezers
Head changing operation
When replacing the tweezer head, a dedicated screwdriver (such as SIPEL-0) and screw (such as SC-0 M2-X3-04) should be used to tighten according to the torque requirements in the instruction manual to prevent loosening or detachment.
After replacement, a functional test is required to confirm that the new tweezer head is securely connected to the handle and operates flexibly without any jamming.
Head shape selection
Select the material of the tweezer head according to the process requirements:
ESD anti-static resin head: suitable for anti-static sensitive environments;
DEL white formaldehyde resin head: suitable for high rigidity demand scenarios;
Ceramic head: suitable for high temperature or wear-resistant scenarios (such as 1500 ℃ temperature resistance).
Select the head size based on the component size (such as 0.6mm straight and thin tips suitable for small components).
Maintenance and cost optimization
The interchangeable head design can reduce maintenance costs (such as TIP-ESD-4 used for 1304-SA tweezers, reducing the frequency of whole replacement).
Regularly check the inventory of tweezer heads to avoid process interruptions caused by missing head shapes.
