I. Overview
The SNA6000A series vector network analyzer has a frequency of up to 26.5GHz, equipped with four test ports, and can be expanded to 24 or more ports through the SSM5000A series switch matrix or SSU5000A series mechanical switch. To meet the needs of multi port calibration and reduce connector losses, SEM5000A series electronic calibration components can be optionally equipped, greatly reducing calibration time. The SNA6000A vector network has a dynamic range of up to 135dB and adopts a new design architecture with stronger data processing capabilities. It supports multiple functions such as TDR and mixer measurement, and can be widely used in communication, antenna base stations, materials, devices, intelligent manufacturing, and automobilesMany fields such as electronics.

(5)Mixer measurement
The mixer is an important component of microwave and millimeter wave systems, and its characteristics directly affect the performance of equipment or instruments. At various stages of the development and production of mixers, it is necessary to measure their performance indicators.
Traditional vector network analyzers only have dual ports and one built-in signal source, requiring the use of an external signal source to provide local oscillator signals for measuring mixers. This not only makes the operation cumbersome, but also results in slow measurement speed and significant errors. ButThe SNA6000A series vector network analyzer has 4 ports and is equipped with two independent signal sources. It can directly measure the frequency conversion loss of the mixer without the need for an external signal source or controller.

(6)Pulse measurement function
The SNA6000A is equipped with a built-in pulse modulator and pulse generator, which are used to test high-power devices such as power transistors, as well as modules that require operation in pulse mode. The heat accumulated by continuous wave excitation may damage the device under test, while using pulse excitation for measurement can safely characterize the characteristics of such devices, while also supporting the control of external pulse generators and modulators to maintain synchronization with the external main pulse.

(7)Enhanced Time Domain Analysis (TDR) Function
SNA6000A supports advanced time-domain analysis (TDR), which can accurately measure the characteristic impedance of transmission lines and help locate the specific location of breakpoints or short circuits. In addition, the TDR function of SNA6000A can also generate eye diagrams through internal simulation, which can efficiently complete waveform consistency testing without the need for additional code generators. The use of eye diagram function can more intuitively analyze issues such as noise, jitter, and inter symbol interference in signal transmission. The TDR function can be widely used in PCB impedance testing, material performance testing, and transmission line quality testing.

5、 Typical application - Dielectric constant testing of PTFE substrate without fiberglass cloth
Use a vector network analyzer to measure the resonant frequency and Q value of the resonant cavity fixture. At the beginning of the test, first measure the resonant frequency and Q value of the resonant cavity, and then load the tested sample to measure the resonant frequency and Q value of the resonant cavity after placing the sample. When the volume of the sample and other parameters of the resonant cavity are known, these measurements can be substituted into the following formula to calculate the dielectric constant and loss tangent. (ε ₐ is the complex dielectric constant, Q is the quality factor, f ₀ is the resonant frequency, L ₐ is the inductance, and π is the pi).
