Background:

Carbon monoxide (CO) is the main occupational hazard in metallurgical and steel enterprises, with multiple operating points, wide distribution range, and a wide range of people in contact. Gas poisoning accidents occur frequently every year, and the harm it brings to the happiness of workers and families is far-reaching.

The impact of carbon monoxide (CO) concentration on the human body:

The allowable exposure concentration is 50ppm, which can be exposed for 8 hours (OSHA).

200ppm may cause mild frontal headaches within 2 to 3 hours.

Frontal headache and vomiting after 1 to 2 hours at 400ppm, dizziness after 2.2 to 3.5 hours.

Headache, dizziness, and vomiting within 45 minutes at 800ppm. Coma within 2 hours, possible death.

1600ppm: Headache, dizziness, and vomiting within 20 minutes. Coma and death within 1 hour.

Headache and dizziness within 5 to 10 minutes at 3200ppm. 30 minutes of unconsciousness, there is a risk of death.

6400ppm: Headache and dizziness within 1 to 2 minutes. 10 to 15 minutes of unconsciousness, with a risk of death.

12800ppm immediately imperceptible. There is a risk of death within 1 to 3 minutes.
