Disassembly of Micro Nano 3D Printing System: Understanding the Magic of Each Component
Date: 2025-12-16Read: 2
Micro nano 3D printing systemIt is an advanced additive manufacturing equipment that can achieve high-precision three-dimensional structure manufacturing at the micrometer or even nanometer scale, widely used in cutting-edge scientific research and high-tech manufacturing fields such as microelectronics, photonics, biomedical, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), metamaterials, and nanodevices. This system breaks through the limitations of traditional machining techniques in complex structures, small sizes, and material diversity, achieving precision manufacturing from bottom to top.
It usually consists of a high stability optical platform, a precision motion control system (such as a piezoelectric ceramic displacement table), a laser light source, a real-time imaging monitoring module, and dedicated control software. Users can import CAD models and drive the system to construct complex 3D microstructures point by point or layer by layer after slicing, such as micro lens arrays, biomimetic scaffolds, microfluidic chips, photonic crystals, and micro robots.
Micro nano 3D printing systemThe components of:
1、 Optical system: the "carving knife" of photopolymerization reaction
The optical system is the core of micro nano 3D printing, which achieves material solidification or deposition through high-precision beam control:
Light source type:
Laser source: such as femtosecond laser (used for two-photon polymerization technology), which achieves nanometer level accuracy by exciting material two-photon absorption with ultra short pulses (such as Nanoscribe system can print 200nm feature size).
LED light source: such as Mofang Precision's UV-LED (405nm), combined with surface projection micro stereolithography (P μ SL) technology, curing resin through dynamic mask one-time exposure, balancing accuracy (10 μ m) and efficiency (such as nanoArch) ® The maximum molding size supported by 140 is 94mm × 52mm × 45mm.
Optical path design:
Laser direct writing type: Control the laser beam scanning path through a galvanometer or displacement table to achieve point by point solidification (such as two-photon polymerization technology).
Surface projection exposure type: using a digital mask generation system (such as DMD chip), the 3D model is decomposed into 2D slices, and the entire layer of material is cured in one go through a projection beam (such as Mofang Precision's P μ SL technology).
Focusing and beam reduction:
By combining microscopic imaging optical systems (such as objective lenses and lens groups), the beam is focused to the micro nano scale, and the photopolymerization reaction area is controlled (such as in two-photon polymerization technology, the focal diameter can be reduced to below 100nm).
2、 Motion Control System: A "Navigator" in Three Dimensional Space
The motion control system achieves three-dimensional movement of the print head or platform through high-precision guide rails and motors
Rail type:
Linear guide rail: provides X, Y, Z three-axis linear motion to ensure that the print head or platform moves with micrometer level accuracy (such as Mofang Precision's nanoArch) ® The positioning accuracy of 130 reaches 1 μ m.
Piezoelectric ceramic drive: used for nanoscale displacement control (such as the CERES micro nano metal 3D printing system, which uses piezoelectric ceramics to drive AFM probes and achieve sub micron level metal structure printing).
Motor control:
By using closed-loop servo motors or stepper motors, combined with encoder feedback, high-precision position control can be achieved (such as printing layer thickness as low as 5 μ m).
Synchronous coordination:
The optical system and motion system work synchronously to ensure precise matching between the beam scanning path and the material solidification position (such as in two-photon polymerization technology, the laser focus needs to be strictly synchronized with the movement path of the print head).
3、 Material Supply System: The 'Builder' of Micro and Nano Structures
The material supply system provides photosensitive resin, metal, ceramic and other materials according to the printing technology requirements, and controls their flow and curing:
Material type:
Photosensitive resin: used in photopolymerization technologies such as P μ SL and two-photon polymerization, requiring high transparency and low shrinkage (such as Mofang Precision's biocompatible resin).
Metal materials: used for electrochemical deposition or laser sintering (such as the CERES system supporting more than 30 types of metal materials including Cu, Ag, Pt, etc.).
Ceramic materials: High strength structures are achieved through high-temperature sintering (such as the micro nano 3D printed ceramic parts used by Prisson 3D Technology, which are sintered at 1700 ℃ and used in medical devices).
Supply mode:
Liquid supply: Transporting photosensitive resin or metal salt solutions through pumps or pressure control systems (such as the CERES system distributing metal ion solutions through microfluidic technology).
Powder supply: Used for selective laser sintering (SLS) or 3D printing (3DP), requiring the use of binders or laser melting (such as the use of nylon powder in SLS technology).
Curing control:
UV curing: The polymerization reaction is initiated by ultraviolet light or laser (such as in P μ SL technology, where UV-LED is used to cure the resin).
Thermal curing: Material curing is achieved through a heating platform or infrared light (such as some FDM technologies using thermoplastic polymer materials).
Electrochemical deposition: The reduction of metal ions to metals through electrolytic reactions (such as the use of electrochemical methods to print submicron scale metal structures in the CERES system).
4、 Environmental Control System: A 'Stabilizer' for Micro Nano Manufacturing
The environmental control system ensures the stability of the printing process by controlling parameters such as temperature, humidity, and vibration
Temperature control:
Thermostatic chamber: Maintain stable temperature in the printing environment (such as avoiding temperature fluctuations that may cause changes in shrinkage rate when printing with photosensitive resin).
Localized heating: Heating a specific area to promote material solidification or melting (such as in FDM technology, nozzle heating melts thermoplastic materials).
Humidity control:
Prevent material moisture absorption from causing performance changes (such as printing ceramic materials in a dry environment to avoid cracking).
Vibration isolation:
Using air flotation isolation table or active vibration reduction system to reduce the impact of external vibration on printing accuracy (such as sub micron level vibration isolation required for two-photon aggregation technology).
Cleanliness control:
Operate in an ultra clean room environment to prevent dust from contaminating micro nano structures (such as Class 100 cleanliness required for semiconductor device manufacturing).
5、 Software System: The "Intelligent Brain" of Micro Nano Design
Software system for 3D model processing, printing path planning, and process monitoring:
Modeling software:
Support importing in CAD, STL and other formats, and perform slicing processing (such as decomposing a 3D model into 2D slices, with each layer thickness as low as 5 μ m).
Path planning algorithm:
Optimize the printing path to reduce support structures and improve efficiency (such as Mofang Precision's intelligent slicing algorithm that can automatically generate optimal printing parameters).
Process monitoring and feedback:
Real time monitoring of printing status (such as photopolymerization progress, material supply), and adjustment of parameters through sensor feedback (such as the CERES system controlling 3D structural accuracy through displacement table and needle tip movement).
Post processing support:
Provide guidance on post-treatment processes such as support structure removal and surface polishing (such as coating treatment to form hydrophilic surfaces after microfluidic chip printing).
