Cylindrical battery grooving machine based on mechanical rolling technology
Date: 2025-11-22Read: 20
The cylindrical battery grooving machine is an important equipment in the production of cylindrical batteries. It processes grooves of specific shapes and sizes on the battery shell through mechanical rolling technology, which is important for improving battery performance, production efficiency, and safety. Mainly used for rolling out circular grooves at specific positions on battery shells, this groove is used to match the sealing ring and cover plate during subsequent cell sealing, ensuring the sealing and structural stability of the battery.
key component
Roller cutter component: composed of roller cutter, rolling cam, spring, etc., controlling the depth and shape of the rolling groove. ‌
Positioning system: Ensure battery fixation and reduce processing errors. ‌
Control system: Some devices are equipped with intelligent parameter adjustment to support the rolling groove requirements of batteries of different specifications. ‌
The cylindrical battery grooving machine is based on mechanical rolling technology, and its workflow is as follows:
Loading: The battery is placed on a vibrating disc or conveyor belt and transported to the processing position in sequence.
Positioning: The positioning device (such as a fixture) fixes the position and angle of the battery to ensure machining accuracy (the error can be controlled within ± 0.1 millimeters).
Rolling groove: The rolling groove tool (made of high hardness alloy) rotates at high speed (thousands of revolutions per minute) under the drive of the spindle, cuts into the battery housing at a preset depth and width, and forms a groove. The feed rate needs to be accurately controlled. If it is too fast, it will cause surface roughness, while if it is too slow, it will affect efficiency.
Cooling: The cooling system sprays cutting fluid to lower the temperature of the tool and battery, reduce wear, and improve machining accuracy.
Cutting: The processed batteries are transported to the collection device, and some equipment has automatic sorting function, classified by quality.
Standard Operating Procedure
Preparation before startup: Check if the electrical appliances, air circuits, and transmission components are functioning properly, and clean up any debris on the workbench; Adjust the pressure of the feed cylinder and exhaust cylinder to the corresponding range; Arrange the batteries neatly into the hopper and material channel, ensuring that they are placed in the correct direction.
Testing and processing: First switch to manual mode, press the start button to test the single cycle process, and confirm that the feeding, tightening, and groove rolling actions are normal; Switch to automatic mode again to start the equipment, which will automatically complete the continuous cycle of feeding, clamping, rolling groove, and discharging.
Post shutdown cleaning: After processing is completed, turn off the power and air valve, and drain the accumulated water in the air filter; Clean the workbench, store battery cases by category, and keep records of equipment operation.
