Cross scenario usage guide for high-precision gas distribution instrument
Date: 2025-10-24Read: 1
1High precision gas distribution instrumentDifferences in Core Requirements between Laboratories and Industrial Sites
Laboratory Scene
Requirement: Low flow rate (0.01 mL/min-10 L/min), multi-component (such as O ₂/N ₂/CO ₂/Ar), ppb level low concentration gas distribution, used for scientific calibration, photochemical reaction research, or cell culture.
Typical applications: calibration of gas sensors (such as simulating changes in atmospheric pollution components), calibration of environmental monitoring equipment, and demonstration of chemical experiment teaching.
Key parameters: Gas distribution accuracy ± 0.1% FS, flow range 0.01-300 L/min, support for multi-component dynamic gas distribution (such as 8-channel gas mixing).
Industrial site scene
Requirement: High flow rate (up to 300 L/min), single component or simple multi-component (such as N ₂/O ₂/CO ₂), strong anti-interference ability, used for process control or safety monitoring.
Typical applications: coal mine gas concentration monitoring, gas control in metallurgical industry smelting process, specific gas preparation in pharmaceutical industry (such as sterile air).
Key parameters: pressure resistance (0.7 MPa), explosion-proof design, remote monitoring interface, data cloud storage.
2、 Core principles for cross scenario use
Equipment selection matching scenario requirements
Laboratory: Priority should be given to equipment that supports multi-component dynamic gas distribution, high precision (± 0.1% FS), and data recording function.
Industrial site: Choose equipment that is pressure resistant, explosion-proof, supports high flow rates (such as 300 L/min), and has remote monitoring capabilities.
General suggestion: If both are needed, modular design equipment can be selected to adapt to different scenarios by replacing flow controllers or pipelines.
Environmental adaptability adjustment
Temperature control: The laboratory needs to maintain a temperature of 15-30 ℃ (fluctuation ≤ ± 2 ℃/h), while industrial sites can adjust it through a constant temperature cabinet or air conditioning.
Humidity management: The laboratory humidity is controlled at 30% -60% RH (to avoid condensation), and the industrial site requires moisture-proof design (such as IP65 protection level).
Ventilation requirements: Explosion proof exhaust systems should be installed in laboratories (especially when dealing with flammable gases), and ventilation ducts that comply with safety regulations should be installed in industrial sites.
Standardization of operating procedures
Laboratory operations:
Step 1: Connect the gas circuit (pressure resistant hose+metal lining tube) and check the airtightness (leakage rate<0.1 mL/min).
Step 2: Set parameters (gas type, concentration, flow rate) through the touch screen, and the system will automatically calculate the flow rate of each channel.
Step 3: Real time monitoring of concentration after starting gas distribution (built-in infrared spectrometer), automatic compensation when deviation>± 0.5%.
Industrial site operation:
Step 1: Check the cylinder pressure (≥ 0.3 MPa) and gas purity (carrier gas ≥ 99.999%).
Step 2: Implement automated gas distribution (such as timed switching of concentration gradients) through pre-set programs in the upper computer software.
Step 3: After the gas distribution is completed, perform a purge program (with inert gas for 3-5 minutes) to remove residual gas.
3、 Key precautions
Gas compatibility
Corrosive gases (such as HCl, SO ₂): Teflon tubing is required in laboratories, while 316 stainless steel pressure reducing valves and bottle valves are needed in industrial sites.
Flammable gases (such as H ₂): Explosion proof exhaust systems are required in both laboratories and industrial sites, and combustible gas alarms need to be installed in industrial sites.
Safety operation standards
Laboratory: Wear a gas mask and gloves when handling corrosive gases, and blow the pipeline with inert gas after gas distribution.
Industrial site: Strictly follow safety regulations (such as power-off operation, double person confirmation), and cut off all gas sources when not in use for a long time.
Data Management and Traceability
Laboratory: Save gas distribution parameters and concentration curves to the local or cloud (supporting CSV/PDF format) for easy traceability of scientific research data.
Industrial site: Transmit data to the Laboratory Management System (LIMS) via WiFi or 4G to achieve traceability of the production process.
