Safe use measures for constant temperature solid density meter
Date: 2025-09-22Read: 0
The following are the safety measures for using a constant temperature solid density meter, covering key aspects such as preparation before operation, precautions during operation, and daily maintenance:
1、 Safety check and environmental adaptation before operation of constant temperature solid density meter
1. Equipment integrity confirmation
Before use, it is necessary to thoroughly inspect the appearance of the instrument for any obvious damage or cracks, especially the core components such as the measuring cell, heating device, and display screen. If any abnormalities are found, the use should be stopped in a timely manner and professional personnel should be contacted for repair. At the same time, ensure that the power cord has no exposed copper wires or damaged insulation layers to avoid the risk of electrical leakage.
2. Workbench stability guarantee
Place the instrument on a level and stable experimental platform, away from vibration sources (such as centrifuges) and strong magnetic field interference areas. If necessary, the base screws can be adjusted with a level to ensure absolute balance of the equipment, preventing liquid overflow or sensor data deviation caused by tilting.
3. Media compatibility verification
Select the appropriate working fluid (usually water or other inert liquid) based on the characteristics of the sample to be tested, and the use of flammable and explosive solvents is strictly prohibited. For highly corrosive acidic and alkaline solutions, it is necessary to confirm in advance whether the material of the measuring cell has anti-corrosion ability, and wear protective gloves for refueling operations.
4. Pre testing of temperature control system
After activating the constant temperature function, set the target temperature and wait for at least 15 minutes for the system to fully stabilize. During this period, observe whether the heating indicator light is turned off normally and whether the actual water temperature is consistent with the displayed value. Avoid adding samples during severe temperature fluctuations to avoid affecting measurement accuracy or causing thermal shock damage.
2、 Operating procedures and protective measures for constant temperature solid density meters
1. Standardization of sample pretreatment
Ensure that the surface of the tested object is clean and dry, and remove impurities such as oil stains and dust. For porous materials such as activated carbon, it is recommended to first perform vacuum saturation treatment to eliminate internal air; For samples with strong water absorption, it is necessary to control the soaking time to prevent excessive swelling from affecting the results. The large sample should be cut to a suitable size to avoid forcefully inserting it into the measuring frame and causing jamming accidents.
2. Application of splash protection device
Install a transparent acrylic protective cover or organic glass baffle above the measurement area to effectively block the damage of liquid splashes to the operator's eyes and skin. Especially when replacing high-temperature media, high-temperature steam may suddenly erupt, and protective barriers can play a critical buffering role.
3. Mastery of Hanging Basket Techniques
Use specialized fixtures to fix the sample basket, keeping it vertically suspended and not touching the inner wall of the measuring cylinder. During the process of slowly descending to the fully submerged position, pay attention to observing whether there are bubbles adhering to the surface of the sample. If there are, gently shake the basket to remove them. Do not use excessive force to cause the hanging basket to detach and fall.
4. Timing control of readings
Data can only be recorded when the values on the display screen tend to stabilize. Avoid taking samples hastily when the liquid level is still shaking, as the readings may have significant errors due to fluid dynamics effects. For materials with densities close to the medium, the method of taking the average of multiple measurements can be used to improve accuracy.
