Requirements and testing methods for collision test of fire detectors
Date: 2025-12-20Read: 0
The core purpose of the collision test for fire detectors is to verify that the detector can maintain structural integrity and normal detection function even after minor collisions during transportation, installation, or use. Its requirements and testing methods are mainly based onGB 4717-2005 "Fire Alarm Controllers"、GB 15631-2008 "Special Fire Detectors"According to relevant standards, the specific content is as follows:

1、 Basic requirements for the experiment

  1. Sample status

    • Select 3 fire detectors (including smoke detectors, temperature detectors, flame detectors, etc.) that are in normal working condition. The samples must be factory finished products, with complete housing, sensors, and wiring terminals installed.

    • Before the experiment, it is necessary to record the initial functional status of the detector to ensure that there are no alarms or functional failures.

Compliance with standards and terms:

GB4715-2005 Point type Smoke Fire Detector, Section 4.14, Appendix E and Figure 7

Article 5.11 of GB16838-2021 "Environmental Test Methods and Severity Levels for Fire Electronic Products"

Scope, purpose, principle, structure, and usage environment of the sample and its limitations:

▲ Experimental purposeUsed to test the applicability of point type smoke fire detectors to mechanical collisions and verify their collision resistance.

▲ Testing principle:Install the specimen onto the horizontal mounting plate of the collision equipment in its normal usage state, so that the hammer head collides with the specimen in the horizontal direction at a speed of 1.5 ± 0.125m/s and an energy of 1.9 ± 0.1J. The speed and impact energy of the hammer head are obtained by releasing the working hammer from the electromagnet at a 270 ° angle to the impact point according to standard diagram E.1.

▲ Operating environment:Power supply: AC220V ± 10%/50-60Hz, working temperature 5-35 ℃, humidity 30% -90%;

▲ Equipment structure and characteristics:The horizontal mounting plate for installing the detector is supported by a steel frame. The installation plate can be adjusted up and down to allow the center of the collision surface of the hammer head to collide with the detector from a horizontal direction. The working hammer drives the hammer head to rotate 3/2 rad and collide with the detector. Equipment dimensions: 900 × 400 × 1200 (mm) W × D × H, equipment weight: 100kg.
