GB2099.1 Instructions for using plug compression test device
Date: 2025-12-17Read: 1
The plug compression test device corresponding to GB2099.1 mainly complies with the requirements of clause 24.6 of GB/T 2099.1-2021 standard, and is used to test the mechanical strength of the plug to avoid safety issues caused by compression damage during transportation and use. The following are the specific usage methods:
  1. Preparation before the experiment

    1. Environment and Sample PreparationAdjust the temperature of the test environment to 23 ± 2 ℃, while ensuring that the pressure plate, base, and plug to be tested of the device are all at this temperature. Prepare three representative plug samples to ensure they are in delivery condition, free from damage, assembly defects, and other issues.

    2. Device inspectionConfirm that the device includes pressure plate, base, 300N weight (usually composed of two 150N weights stacked together), lifting adjustment mechanism and other components that are intact and undamaged. Adjust the adjustable swivel foot through the level ruler of the base to ensure that the device base is in a horizontal state and avoid force deviation. At the same time, check whether the lifting and adjusting mechanism (such as the screw) is flexible and free of jamming.

  2. Experimental operation steps

    1. Debugging deviceRotate the device handle to lift the pressure head, place a 300N weight on the pressure rod, and then place the tension ring between the upper and lower hooks to complete the device debugging before applying force.

    2. Position 1 pressurizationPlace the plug sample in the position shown in standard figure 8a between the pressure plate and the base, ensuring that the sample is placed steadily and the stress area corresponds to the area where the plug is easily compressed during normal use. Rotate the handle to lower the pressure head, allowing the pressure of the weight to act on the sample, and maintain the 300N pressure for 1 minute.

    3. Second position pressurizationAfter 1 minute, lift the pressure head, remove the sample, and reposition the sample at another position as shown in standard figure 8b. Lower the pressure head again and apply a pressure of 300N, maintaining it for 1 minute.

  3. Post experimental processing and result determination

    1. Sample static placementAfter the experiment is completed, lift the pressure head, remove the sample, and place it in the testing environment for 15 minutes to stabilize the sample state.

    2. Result determinationObserve and inspect the condition of the specimen. If there is no standard damage to the specimen, such as no cracking or deformation of the outer shell, no looseness or displacement of the internal wiring terminals, and no bending or fracture of the pins, the compression test of the plug is judged to be qualified; If any of the above-mentioned damages occur, it will be judged as unqualified.

  4. Precautions for use

    1. The weight of the weight is relatively large, so it should be handled gently during the process of taking and placing to avoid bumping the weight or device, and to prevent injuring the hands.

    2. After the experiment is completed, the dust and stains on the surface of the device should be wiped off in a timely manner. Anti rust oil can be applied to the surface of the metal parts, and then the device should be stored in a cool and dry place.

    3. If faults such as lagging of the regulating mechanism are found during the test, the test should be stopped immediately and retested after maintenance is completed.
