The main functions and testing items of the aluminum electrolyte physical property comprehensive tester
Date: 2025-10-10Read: 3
The aluminum electrolyte physical property comprehensive tester is a high-precision instrument used to test the performance of aluminum electrolytes. Aluminum electrolyte plays an important role in the aluminum metallurgy industry, and its physical and chemical properties directly affect the efficiency, quality, and safety of the aluminum electrolysis process. Therefore, accurately testing the physical properties of aluminum electrolytes is of great significance for improving the production efficiency and product quality of the aluminum electrolysis industry.

Aluminum electrolyte physical property comprehensive testerThe main functions and testing items of:
1. Conductivity test
Conductivity is one of the key properties of aluminum electrolytes, which directly affects the current density and electrolysis efficiency of the electrolysis process. Measure the conductivity of aluminum electrolyte at different temperatures and compositions through the combination of current sensors and voltage sensors. During the testing process, the electrolyte is heated to a certain temperature, and current flows through the electrolyte while recording the voltage value. The conductivity is calculated using Ohm's law.
2. Melting point test
The melting point is an important characteristic of aluminum electrolytes, which determines whether the electrolyte can remain liquid during the electrolysis process. The melting point test usually uses a thermocouple thermometer to monitor the phase transition point of the electrolyte in real time during the heating process. Accurate determination of melting point helps optimize the operating conditions of electrolytic cells and avoid problems such as electrolyte crystallization or excessive melting.
3. Viscosity test
Viscosity is a physical quantity that describes the fluid flow resistance. In the process of aluminum electrolysis, the viscosity of the electrolyte affects the fluidity of the aluminum liquid and the thermal distribution of the electrolytic cell. The tester measures the viscosity changes of aluminum electrolyte at different temperatures through vibration or rotation. Usually, a rotational viscometer or a vibration viscometer is used to complete this task.
4. Thermal stability test
Aluminum electrolytes need to maintain good stability at high temperatures to avoid decomposition or other chemical reactions during prolonged electrolysis processes. Thermal stability testing is usually conducted through thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) or differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) to test the mass change and thermal reaction characteristics of aluminum electrolytes during the heating process.
5. Specific gravity test
Specific gravity is an important parameter that describes the mass per unit volume of a substance, usually measured by a densitometer. The specific gravity of aluminum electrolyte has a direct impact on the design of electrolytic cells and electrolysis efficiency, therefore routine testing is required.
6. Chemical composition analysis
In addition to physical properties, the chemical composition of aluminum electrolytes also needs to be accurately determined. The tester determines the content of each major component in the electrolyte, such as the proportion of aluminum fluoride, calcium fluoride, etc., through spectral or mass spectrometry analysis of the sample. This test helps optimize the electrolyte ratio and ensure the optimal efficiency of the electrolysis process.
Technical characteristics of aluminum electrolyte physical property comprehensive tester:
1. High precision measurement
Equipped with high-precision sensors and measuring equipment, capable of conducting high-precision physical performance testing under special temperatures and electric fields. For example, conductivity testing uses high-sensitivity current sensors, while temperature control systems use precise PID regulators to ensure the accuracy and repeatability of test results.
2. Multi parameter linkage testing
This tester can simultaneously measure multiple physical parameters such as conductivity, melting point, viscosity, etc. in the same experiment, and provide users with comprehensive physical property analysis reports through multidimensional test data. This can greatly improve testing efficiency and reduce errors and biases in experiments.
3. Automation control and data analysis
Usually equipped with automated control systems and data analysis software, it can achieve automated testing, real-time monitoring, and data recording. The test data is processed and analyzed through a computer system to generate detailed experimental reports for users to further analyze and adjust the electrolyte formula.
4. High temperature control accuracy
Due to the close relationship between the physical properties of aluminum electrolytes and temperature, an accurate temperature control system is one of the core technologies of comprehensive testing instruments. The temperature control system adopts high-precision heating elements and temperature sensors to ensure that the temperature changes during the testing process fluctuate within the set range.
5. Adapt to multiple electrolyte samples
The composition and physical properties of aluminum electrolytes may vary depending on different production processes or manufacturers, therefore, the design of the tester needs to have a certain degree of adaptability. Most electrolyte samples are compatible with different types and compositions, and have a wide range of applications.
