Briefly describe how to use weights to calibrate elevators

Zhongyuan Weights

Elevator weight structure: The weight can have an adjustment chamber, and the total volume of all adjustment chambers should not exceed 1/10 of the total volume of the weight. The elevator weight chamber should be sealed, waterproof, and dustproof. The adjustment chamber can be sealed with a threaded plug or knob. The hardness and strength of elevator weights should be able to withstand the impact of home use under normal conditions.

Since the introduction of the new elevator inspection regulations, many elevator companies have used 25 kilogram weights for inspection. So the question is, why choose a 25 kilogram weight instead of 20 kilograms? Below, the editor will explain to you.

Firstly, most domestic civilian elevators weigh 1 ton or 1.5 tons, so to calibrate the elevator, the load must be 1.25 times that of the elevator. For example, for an elevator with a load of 1 ton, a 1.25 ton weight is required to calibrate such an elevator. Choosing a 25 kilogram weight for calibration requires 50 weights, and if choosing a 20 kilogram weight, 62.5 weights are required. This large quantity is not easy to stack and is not conducive to workers carrying, so this is the reason why 25 kilogram weights are widely used. Afterwards, there was the mention of elevator weights!

Steps for verifying elevators with elevator weights:

1. Check the brake clearance first? Are the relevant screws tightened? Is there any oil stains on the brake pad? Is the pressure adjustment of the brake spring good? Are the brake pads worn?

2. Check if the traction wheel is worn? Is the steel wire rope worn? And oil stains?

3. Re check if the relevant screws, counterweight screws, and pressure plates of the elevator car are securely fastened? Is there any damage to the counterweight?

4. When unloaded, the brake can be released unilaterally to check the braking force, and the elevator can be selected to stop at the top floor. (For double push type, it is not possible to try single side)

5. Check if the buffer in the bottom pit is intact? Is the base loose?

6. Then check the distance between the four weighing limit screws on the bottom of the car

7. First, you can check if the car slides while driving up and stopping down?

8. Test the no-load braking capacity and observe the braking distance. (The elevator loses power after passing through the middle floor and running upwards)

9. Pay attention to shielding overload and door machine

10. Note that the weights must be gradually loaded at the bottom layer, while also ensuring that there is no sliding phenomenon

11. Check the balance coefficient, and at 50% load, simultaneously test the downward braking force at half load

12. Then observe the braking force at 80% and 100% load respectively, and if possible, try again at 125% load

13. When conducting 80% -125% load braking tests, try to cut off power as low as possible on the lower floors

14. If possible, reduce the elevator speed for testing.

15. After completion, check for any deformation in the elevator car and counterweight, and then reset the overload and door mechanism.

Although the effect is that during the 125 test, it is better to cut off the power after passing the middle position because the weight of the car's steel wire rope is still relatively small at this time, if the brake is not good, it can be very scary. The elevator may have the safety clamp move, the steel wire rope head may break, and the car may fall. Therefore, it feels better to place it at the lower position, although it may cause a slightly longer braking distance.
