Catalytic combustion analyzer is an analytical instrument based on the principle of catalytic combustion, which measures the concentration of combustible gases (such as carbon monoxide, methane, etc.) in the sample gas. The core principle is to determine gas concentration through the heat changes generated by catalytic oxidation reactions, which has high accuracy, high stability, and a wide range of application scenarios.
Catalytic combustion analyzer is mainly used to detect the concentration of combustible gases in gas samples, and the concentration measurement is achieved through the change of heat generated by catalytic oxidation reaction. This instrument converts combustible components in gas samples into heat through catalytic combustion reactions, and quantifies gas concentration by detecting temperature or resistance changes through sensors. Suitable for industrial safety monitoring, environmental testing, and other scenarios, such as detecting leaks of flammable gases such as natural gas and liquefied gas.
working principle
Catalytic combustion reaction: When combustible gas enters the sensor chamber, it undergoes flameless combustion reaction with oxygen under the action of catalysts (such as platinum, palladium and other precious metals). For example, methane reacts with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water, and releases heat.
Heat and resistance changes: The heat generated by combustion increases the temperature of the detection element (such as platinum wire), resulting in an increase in its resistance value. The resistance value of the compensating element (not involved in the reaction) remains unchanged.
Electrical signal output: The detection element and compensation element form a measurement bridge. Due to the change in resistance of the detection element, the bridge loses balance and outputs an electrical signal proportional to the concentration of combustible gas.
Concentration measurement: By measuring the magnitude of electrical signals, converting and calculating them through circuits, the concentration value of combustible gases is displayed on the display panel.
Maintenance and Care
Regular calibration: Regularly calibrate the equipment based on usage frequency and environmental conditions to ensure measurement accuracy.
Cleaning the sensor: Regularly clean the surface of the sensor to prevent pollutants such as dust and oil from affecting measurement performance.
Check catalyst activity: Regularly check the activity of the catalyst. If a decrease in activity is found, the catalyst should be replaced in a timely manner.
Recording operational data: Daily recording of equipment operation records (such as temperature curves, catalyst replacement records, etc.) for easy troubleshooting and performance evaluation.
