How to ensure safe use of differential scanning calorimeter
Date: 2018-01-26Read: 0

Differential scanning calorimeterPrinciples of Safe Use:

差示扫描量热仪

1. Check if all connections of the instrument are correct, if the gas used is sufficient, and if the tools are complete.
2. The crucible must be covered unless there are special testing requirements.
3. Do not use corrosive or flammable gases to blow instruments.
4. Do not use gases that are prone to forming explosive gas mixtures.
5. Never disconnect the power supply of the measuring instrument when the temperature exceeds 100 ℃. The cooling fan will shut down as a result.
6. Do not touch the furnace body, furnace cover, or samples just taken out of the furnace body. The temperature of the furnace body may reach up to 500 ℃
Or 700 ℃, it must be moved with tweezers. In the experiment, if an aluminum crucible is chosen as the sample dish, the maximum temperature for the experiment should not exceed 550 ℃. If the highest temperature in the experiment exceeds 550 ℃, a ceramic crucible can be used.
7. The furnace must be kept clean, and hard objects should be avoided from touching the bottom of the furnace when placing and removing samples. Do not use hard objects to clean the sample holder and experimental area to avoid irreversible damage to the instrument.
8. Do not move the instrument alone, DSC1 weighs 30 kilograms.
9. Before turning off the power, remove the sample crucible from the back.
10Differential scanning calorimeterIf any abnormalities occur, the supplier should be contacted promptly and the instrument should not be dismantled or repaired without authorization.
11. To ensure the normal use of the instrument, the sample should not undergo thermal decomposition within the testing temperature range, should not react with aluminum metal, and should not corrode. If the measured sample can produce a large amount of gas or cause an explosion during the heating process, the instrument cannot be used. Therefore, a general understanding of the properties of the sample should be obtained before testing.
12. The laboratory temperature is controlled at 20 ℃ -30 ℃, and the experimental results have high accuracy and repeatability when the temperature is relatively constant. When the room temperature is high, air conditioning should be turned on to ensure that the ambient temperature remains relatively constant in the short term.
13. When preparing DSC samples, do not sprinkle the sample on the edge of the crucible to avoid contaminating the sensor and damaging the instrument. The bottom and all outer surfaces of the crucible must not be contaminated with samples or impurities to avoid affecting the experimental results.
14. Disconnect the data cable and turn off the software before shutting down the instrument. To prevent online and communication errors. This issue can be found in XP and SP3 systems, but has not been tested in other systems.
