In modern industrial systems, sealing gaskets are key components that ensure the sealing performance of pipelines and flange connections. With the development of industry and technology, many emerging fields such as new energy vehicle batteries, hydrogen energy, and aerospace have also begun to extensively apply high-performance sealing gaskets.

Definition and classification of gaskets
Gasket, also known as a gasket in professional terminology, is a mechanical sealing component placed between two connecting surfaces. Its main function is to prevent the leakage of pressurized fluid from the connection, while compensating for surface unevenness caused by mechanical processing. According to the different materials and structures, gaskets are mainly divided into three categories: non-metallic gaskets, metal gaskets, and metal non-metal composite gaskets. Our company mainly supplies non-metallic gaskets, including fiber rubber gaskets, oil resistant paper, metal mica composite gaskets, metal reinforced graphite composite gaskets, etc.
The selection of gaskets needs to be comprehensively considered based on various factors such as temperature, pressure, and medium properties of the working environment, among which PT value (pressure and temperature value) is a key parameter for measuring its pressure resistance performance.

The four major functions of gaskets
1. Sealing is the core function of gaskets, which can effectively fill the micro gap formed between two connecting surfaces due to processing, preventing the leakage of liquids or gases.
2. The compensation function is reflected in the ability of the gasket to adjust and adapt to small unevenness and assembly deviations on the connection surface. Even in the presence of minor scratches or deformations on the flange surface, suitable gaskets can ensure sealing effectiveness.
3. The damping function is reflected in some special applications. For example, gaskets made of cork rubber or silicone can effectively reduce vibration transmission during equipment operation and protect the equipment structure.
4. Insulation is an additional value for certain special gaskets. PTFE gaskets have excellent dielectric properties and can be used as electrical insulation components at various frequencies, suitable for insulation of electrical instruments and other scenarios.

Traditional industrial application scenarios
Traditional asbestos rubber gaskets have been widely used for sealing steam, hydraulic, gas, and oil solvents. For health and environmental considerations, they have gradually been replaced by asbestos free materials. SealTex has been committed to providing customers with asbestos free and environmentally friendly sealing gasket materials for over 20 years.
In the industrial pump and valve, petrochemical industry, the sealing of equipment such as pipelines, pressure vessels, reaction vessels, storage tanks, ball valves, etc. needs to cope with high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive media, and requires high performance of gaskets. Our company can supply expanded PTFE and modified PTFE products that are corrosion-resistant, high-temperature resistant, and creep resistant, such as TEADIT 24SH expanded PTFE, TF1570 glass bead modified PTFE, TF1580 barium sulfate modified PTFE, and TF1590 silica modified PTFE.

In the automotive industry, our asbestos free fiber rubber gaskets are widely used in engines, cylinder liners, oil pans, carburetors, oil pumps, and other applications. The main supply models include ST-2058, ST-2131, ST-2067, ST-4376, etc.

Expansion of applications in emerging fields
With the rapid development of new energy vehicles, battery pack sealing has become an emerging application field for gaskets. The battery system needs to prevent coolant leakage and maintain airtightness, which poses new requirements for the temperature resistance and chemical stability of the gasket. Hydrogen energy equipment is another cutting-edge field in gasket applications. Hydrogen molecules are extremely small, prone to leakage, and have flammable and explosive properties, requiring specialized gaskets to ensure system safety. In the field of aerospaceespeciallyThe environment poses challenges to the performance of gaskets, including multiple requirements such as high temperature resistance, radiation resistance, and lightweight. At present, some models of our company have actively explored their applications in new fields, such as the thermal protection material ST-3271 for aerospace fairings.
