Search for cable paths during operation:
The use of underground cable detectors can easily solve the problems of searching for live cable paths and measuring cable burial depth. The process is to clamp the transmission coupling clamp onto the cable to be tested, and the transmitter generates a coupling signal on the target cable through the coupling clamp. The signal applied by the transmitter can be received along the cable path.
The instrument receiver can also detect 50Hz frequency signals of running cables when used alone. This working method is very practical for distinguishing between live and non live cables, as well as detecting power cables before construction. In this method, a transmitter is not required.
Blind testing of underground cables:
In some cases, such as cable construction or cable movement, it is impossible for the operator to approach the cable for direct connection or use coupling clamps. In this case, the built-in induction antenna of the transmitter can be used to transmit output signals and sense the signals onto the underground cable being tested for positioning and exploration.
Identification of operating cables:
Clamp the transmitter onto the cable using the transmission coupling clamp, and connect the receiver to the exposed end of the cable using the reception coupling clamp and clamp it onto the tested cable. At this point, the signal size can be used to determine which one is the signal cable. (This method requires an additional specially designed receiver clamp). When the receiver is used in conjunction with the receiver clamp and transmitter, it can be used for identifying the live state of cables.
Search for faults in buried cables:
This instrument can use the step voltage method to determine cable faults where the insulation resistance to ground of buried cables is less than 2M Ω; The signal strength method can also be used to determine cable open circuit and short circuit faults, as well as cable phase to phase short circuit faults. The underground cable detector has changed the traditional concept of cable fault location, without the need for high-voltage testing equipment, AC power supply, waveform analysis, simple and clear wiring, and can be used at a glance.
