Cable fault testermanufacturerIn today's society, with the development of communication, stable and rapid power output, and fast and convenient signal transmission. They cannot be used without the standardized arrangement of cables, but because they do not affect the operation and aesthetics of the environment, most cables are buried underground or suspended in the air. It is common for cable damage to occur due to internal or external influences. The longer the fault lasts, the greater the loss caused. Therefore, when detecting the fault location, it has a significant impact on maintenance. The emergence of cable fault testers has solved the situation of excessive time and manpower consumption in such problems. The basic principle of the tester is explained in this chapter by the editor.

Cable fault tester

According to the detection principle of cable faults, when the cable fault tester is in the flashover triggering mode, the flashover rebound formed by the instantaneous breakdown discharge of the cable fault point is a random single transient waveform. Therefore, the cable fault tester has the function of storing oscilloscopes, which can capture and display single transient waveforms to ensure the specific location of the fault point.

The cable fault tester adopts digital storage technology and uses a high-speed A/D converter for sampling. The output transient waveform analog signal is converted into a digital form signal in real time and stored in high-speed memory. The digital signal is then processed by the CPU's microprocessor and transmitted to the LCD display control circuit, becoming information in the form of a timing dot matrix. Finally, the current sampled waveform parameters are displayed on the LCD screen for comparative testing.

When the cable fault tester is in pulse triggering mode, the instrument emits detection pulses at a certain cycle to be added to the tested cable and input circuit, and at the same time starts the A/D converter to work synchronously. Its sampling, storage, processing, and display processes are the same as the above process. There should be a display of reflected echoes on the LCD screen after Zui.

Cable fault testerToday, cable lines that play a role in fast signal transmission in power, communication, and other equipment detect the specific location of faults in order to repair them in the shortest possible time and minimize the losses caused by them. The above is the detailed working principle of the cable fault tester. Combining it with practical use can make the instrument more handy.
