Introduction to the use of precision vibration testing machine
Date: 2025-07-30Read: 1
Precision vibration testing machine is a key equipment that simulates the vibration environment that products may encounter during transportation, use, or storage to test their structural strength and performance stability. Its use must strictly follow standardized procedures to ensure testing accuracy and equipment safety.
1、 Preparation before testing
Environmental inspection: Ensure that the equipment is placed on a level and stable ground, with no strong electromagnetic interference, corrosive gases, or drastic temperature changes around it, and avoid additional resonance during vibration. At the same time, check whether the power supply voltage matches the rated voltage of the equipment, whether the grounding is good, and prevent leakage or signal interference.
Sample preparation: Clearly define the testing purpose (such as transportation vibration, working vibration, etc.), and select appropriate fixtures or fixing methods based on the weight, size, and material of the sample. When fixing, it is necessary to ensure that the sample is rigidly connected to the vibration table surface to avoid loosening, sliding, or unexpected vibration modes during the vibration process. If necessary, anti slip pads should be added to the contact surface or the tightness of the fixture should be adjusted.
Parameter setting planning: Based on relevant standards (such as ISO, ASTM, or internal enterprise standards), determine the vibration type (sinusoidal vibration, random vibration, impact vibration, etc.), vibration frequency range (such as 1-5000Hz), amplitude or acceleration (such as displacement amplitude of 0.1-5mm for sinusoidal vibration, acceleration power spectral density for random vibration), vibration direction (vertical, horizontal, or multi axis), and testing time.
2、 Equipment operation steps
Power on and initialization: Turn on the control host and vibration table power supply in the order specified in the device manual, and wait for the system self-test to complete. Some equipment needs to be preheated (usually 10-30 minutes) to ensure the stability of sensors and control systems. After entering the operation interface, confirm that the device is in "standby" mode and all parameters are displayed normally.
Parameter input and confirmation: Input the planned test parameters item by item in the control software, including vibration type, frequency/acceleration settings, direction selection, duration, etc. For complex vibration programs (such as frequency sweep cycles), multiple parameter sequences can be set through programming functions. After inputting, carefully check whether the parameters are consistent with the testing requirements to prevent sample damage or invalid testing due to parameter errors.
Pre vibration test: Start the "pre vibration" mode (run at low amplitude/low acceleration for 1-2 minutes), observe whether the sample is stable, whether the vibration table runs smoothly, and whether there are any abnormal noises or noises. At the same time, by using monitoring software to view real-time vibration curves (such as whether the waveform of sine waves is distorted and whether the frequency spectrum of random vibrations meets the settings), it is confirmed that sensors (accelerometers, displacement sensors) are working properly and data collection is accurate.
Formal test run: After the pre-test shows no abnormalities, start the formal test. During the testing process, real-time monitoring of equipment operation status is carried out, including vibration table temperature, current, amplitude/acceleration feedback values, etc. Key data points (such as amplitude changes at resonance frequency points) are recorded. If there is any abnormality in the sample (such as abnormal noise or deformation) or equipment alarm (such as overload or overheating), the emergency stop button should be immediately pressed to stop the test and investigate the cause to avoid the accident from escalating.
3、 Operation after testing
Shutdown and parameter saving: After the testing time is over, the equipment will automatically stop or manually press the "stop" button. After the vibration table is completely stationary, turn off the power supply of the vibration table, and then turn off the power supply of the control host. Export and save the raw data recorded during the testing process (vibration curves, spectrograms, maximum acceleration values, etc.), and generate a preliminary test report indicating the testing conditions and sample status.
Sample and equipment inspection: Remove the sample and observe its appearance for any damage, cracks, component detachment, etc. If necessary, perform performance testing (such as electrical performance and mechanical strength testing) and compare it with the state before vibration. Check the vibration table surface, fixtures, and sensors for wear or damage, clean the dust and debris on the surface, and loosen the fixtures for future use.
Equipment maintenance: According to the frequency of equipment use, regularly add lubricating oil to moving parts such as guide rails and bearings, check whether the connecting wiring harness is loose, and whether the control software needs to be updated. For sensors, regular calibration (usually once a year) is required to ensure that their measurement accuracy meets the requirements.
4、 Precautions and advantages
Necessary protective equipment (such as anti slip gloves and goggles) should be worn during operation to avoid direct contact with the operating vibration table.
Overloading of equipment is strictly prohibited, and the weight of the sample must not exceed the rated load of the vibration table, otherwise it may cause a decrease in equipment accuracy or even damage.
The high-precision advantage of Vickers hardness tester can assist in verifying in such tests: if the sample undergoes local deformation after vibration, the difference in hardness between the deformed area and the undeformed area can be measured by Vickers hardness tester, and the influence of vibration on the mechanical properties of the material can be analyzed.
By following the above steps, the precision vibration testing machine can accurately simulate various vibration environments, providing scientific basis for product reliability evaluation. Its high repeatability and wide parameter range make it play an important role in product development and quality testing in fields such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, etc.
