The role of transmittance uniformity measuring instrument in the manufacturing process of displays
Date: 2025-09-21Read: 0
In the fields of modern optics, materials science, environmental monitoring, etc., the propagation characteristics of light have always been one of the research focuses. Transmittance, as an important parameter for measuring the ability of light to propagate in different media, is crucial for quality control of various products. The transmittance uniformity measuring instrument is a specialized device used to measure transmittance uniformity. It can accurately evaluate the transmittance characteristics of different material surfaces or films, as well as the distribution uniformity of light propagation in materials.

  Transmittance uniformity measuring instrumentThe principle:
1. Light source emission and illumination
The measuring instrument first emits a uniform beam of light through a stable light source, which passes through the object being measured. Light sources are generally selected with a wide wavelength range and stable spectra to ensure that the illuminated light has sufficient uniformity and radiation intensity.
2. Light passes through the object under test
When the light emitted by the light source shines on the surface or film of the object being tested, some of the light will be absorbed and reflected, while the remaining part will continue to propagate through the material. Different materials and surface characteristics can lead to differences in transmittance, which directly affects the uniformity of light transmission.
3. Sensor data collection
Measuring instruments are usually equipped with multiple photoelectric sensors, which are evenly distributed along the measurement area. When light passes through the material, the sensor will record real-time light intensity data. The accuracy and response speed of sensors determine the data acquisition capability of measuring instruments.
4. Data processing and analysis
After processing the collected light intensity data, the measuring instrument can calculate the uniformity of transmittance. By comparing the transmittance values of different regions, the indicator of transmittance uniformity can be obtained, usually manifested as the standard deviation or relative uniformity of light intensity distribution.
5. Result output and display
The measuring instrument outputs the analysis results of transmittance uniformity through screen display or data interface. The results can be presented in the form of graphics, numbers, or reports for users to further analyze and evaluate.
Application areas of transmittance uniformity measuring instrument:
1. Inspection and quality control of optical components
Optical components such as lenses, prisms, mirrors, etc. require strict quality control during the production process to ensure that their light transmission performance meets design requirements. It can be used to detect the uniformity of transmittance on the surface of these optical components, helping manufacturers detect optical defects in a timely manner.
2. Display and screen technology
In the manufacturing process of displays, the uniformity of screen light transmission is an important factor affecting image quality. Especially in display technologies such as liquid crystal displays (LCD) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLED), the uniformity of transmittance is crucial for the clarity and color presentation of images. Widely used in the production process of display screens to help manufacturers detect the uniformity of screen light transmission and ensure the visual effect of products.
3. Research and development of solar cells and photovoltaic materials
The efficiency of solar cells is affected by the transparency of materials. The uniformity of transmittance directly affects the absorption efficiency of light energy. Solar cell manufacturers use uniformity measuring instruments to evaluate the uniformity of photovoltaic materials and optimize photovoltaic conversion efficiency.
4. Quality inspection of thin film materials
Many thin film materials, such as OLED displays, thin film solar cells, transparent electronic products, etc., rely on uniform transparency. It can effectively evaluate the uniformity of thin films and provide accurate quality data for the production of thin film materials.
5. Environmental monitoring and material research
In environmental monitoring, it can be used to measure the impact of suspended particles in air or water on light, in order to assess the degree of air or water pollution. In material research, it helps to evaluate the optical properties of new transparent or thin film materials and promote related technological progress.
