The Application of Electrochemical Instruments in Universities

Electrochemical analysis is an important branch of instrumental analysis, usually using methods such as potentiometric analysis, coulombic analysis, polarographic analysis, and voltammetric analysis. Therefore, analytical instruments such as pH meters, ion meters, automatic potentiometric titrators, conductivity meters, electrolytic analyzers, dissolved oxygen analyzers, and potentiometers have been expanded. It has sensitivity and high degree. The measurement process is relatively simple, cost-effective, and easy to achieve automatic and continuous measurement.
Electrochemical analytical instruments have been widely used in fields such as education, petroleum, chemical engineering, metallurgy, electricity, medicine, and environmental monitoring.
Developing the country through science and education is a fundamental national policy in China. With the increasing investment in education by the government, universities have accelerated the pace of infrastructure renovation and the purchase of educational equipment. Therefore, it has played a role in promoting the development of electrochemical analysis instruments in China. I would like to introduce to you the overview of the use of electrochemical analysis instruments in universities that I have learned about.
*The conventional electrochemical analysis instruments produced by Leici Instrument Factory, such as pHS-3C pH meter, DDS-307 conductivity meter, ZD-2 automatic potentiometric titrator, have been widely used in the basic experimental courses of chemistry schools in various universities. So we won't go into detail here. Below, we will introduce other typical application examples to everyone. Please choose and provide guidance.
Example 1: Application of pHBJ-260 portable pH meter, DDBJ-350 conductivity meter, JPBJ-608 portable dissolved oxygen analyzer in the College of Fisheries, Polar Research Institute, and College of Oceanography. Research on freshwater, seawater, and Antarctic ice using the aforementioned instruments. Collect data on conductivity, salinity, TDS, pH value, dissolved oxygen, etc., and study regional differences in the ocean; Research on the simulation and preparation of freshwater and seawater for artificial feeding.
Example 2: Application of pHG-217D, pHGF-28B online pH meter, and DDG-520 online conductivity meter in drip irrigation and indoor planting at the Agricultural College. The purpose is to control the moisture, pH value, phosphorus, potassium and other elements of the floor type trace soil through the above-mentioned monitoring instrument. The ZDJ-5 automatic potentiometric titrator is used in agricultural colleges to analyze elements in soil; Analysis of the distribution of elements in roots, stems, and leaves of plants.
Example 3: The use of pHSJ-4A pH meter and ZDJ-4A automatic potentiometric titrator in the School of Aeronautics and the Tongji National 405 Key Laboratory. Use the above instruments to analyze the alkali value, acid value, and thiol fraction of fuel and lubricating oil. When petroleum products are added with additives, they may contain alkaline components, and the relative content of these components can be determined by acid titration. Used to measure the degradation of additives during the use of lubricating oil, in order to determine the necessary actual oil quality limit.
Example 4: Research on monitoring boiler feedwater in the School of Electric Power using DWS-51 sodium ion concentration meter, DWG-802 online sodium ion monitoring instrument, SJG-943 trace dissolved oxygen analyzer, DDG-520 online conductivity meter, and pHG-768 pH meter. Mainly to prevent oxidation of the gas turbine. Ensured the normal operation and extended service life of the pneumatic turbine unit.
Example 5: The application of pHSJ-4A pH meter, ZDJ-4A, ZDJ-5 automatic potentiometric titrator in medical schools, and their clinical use, such as measuring ion content and controlling pH value in urine samples of kidney patients.
In drug research, ZDJ-4A and ZDJ-5 automatic potentiometric titrators are commonly used for amino acid determination, phenobarbital content determination, penicillin sodium content determination, povidone iodine solution content determination, tryptophan content determination, and chondroitin sulfate tablet content determination.
Example 6: The use of COD-571 chemical oxygen demand analyzer, pHSJ-3F pH meter, JPS-605 dissolved oxygen analyzer, pXSJ-216 ion meter, and ZWS-180/185 turbidity meter in the School of Environment. With the increasing attention of the country to environmental protection, major universities have established environmental colleges accordingly. They used the above-mentioned instruments to monitor the water quality and study the ecological balance of rivers, lakes, and lakes.
