The current deputy editor in chief of "Chromatography" in China, editorial board member of the International Electrophoresis Journal, deputy director of CASSS in the United States, director of the China Invention Association, member of the National Chromatography Professional Committee, vice president of the Chinese Society for Analytical Instruments, vice president of the Shanghai Analytical Testing Association, and member of the National Quality Inspection Method Standardization Technical Committee.

●Dr. Yan Chao was sent abroad for study in 1985 and obtained a doctoral degree from Georgetown University in the United States in 1991. In the same year, he went to Europe and worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the analytical research and development department of Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Switzerland. In 1993, he returned to the United States and devoted himself to electrochromatography research in the Richard Zare laboratory at Stanford University. In 1999, he was invited to lead a delegation back to China to attend the 50th National Day celebration of the People's Republic of China. In 2000, he was selected for the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and served as a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics. I worked at the School of Pharmacy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2006. We have achieved fruitful results in the fields of chromatography and drug fractionation, especially in the field of microfluidic electrokinetic analysis, and have trained more than 150 postdoctoral, doctoral, and master's degree holders.

Published one English monograph titled 'Contemporary Microscale Separation Technology' and was invited to write international encyclopedias on analytical chemistry, including 'Encyclopedia of Analytical Chemistry', 'Handbook of Analytical Chemistry', and 'Chinese Encyclopedia'. More than 30 awards were awarded, including the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the first prize of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of China's Invention and Entrepreneurship Award, and the title of contemporary inventor, special allowance expert of the State Council, China Industry University Research Cooperation Innovation Award, the honorary title of exemplary individual of returned overseas Chinese and their relatives, the Shanghai Outstanding Inventor Award, and the title of outstanding entrepreneur of Shanghai's implementation of invention achievements.
