Visible spectrophotometers have been continuously improved to include various types of instruments such as automatic recording, automatic printing, digital display, and microcomputer control, which have continuously improved the sensitivity and accuracy of photometry and expanded its application range.

Since its inception, visible spectrophotometry has made great progress in its application, especially on the basis of the development of related disciplines, which has promoted the continuous innovation of spectrophotometer instruments, made their functions more complete, and expanded the scope of application of spectrophotometry. At present, spectrophotometry has been widely used in various sectors of industry and agriculture, as well as in various fields of scientific research, and has become a powerful testing method for people engaged in production and scientific research.

Daily maintenance and upkeep of Shanghai Spectrum V7 automatic visible spectrophotometer:

1. Light source. The lifespan of the light source is limited. In order to extend the service life of the light source, do not turn on the light source when the instrument is not in use, and try to minimize the number of switches. The lights may not be turned off during short work intervals. The light source that was just turned off cannot be immediately turned back on. The continuous use time of the instrument should not exceed 3 hours. If it needs to be used for a long time, it is recommended to pause for 30 minutes. If the brightness of the light source is significantly reduced or unstable, it should be replaced with a new light in a timely manner. After replacement, adjust the position of the filament and do not touch the window or bulb directly with your hands to avoid oil contamination. If accidentally touched, wipe with anhydrous ethanol.

2. Monochromator. The monochromator is the core part of the instrument, which is enclosed in a sealed box and cannot be disassembled. The wavelength selection should be rotated in a balanced manner, without excessive force. To prevent the dispersion element from getting damp and moldy, it is necessary to regularly replace the desiccant (silica gel) in the monochromator box. If the desiccant changes color, it should be replaced immediately.

3. Absorption pool. The absorption cell must be used correctly, and special attention should be paid to protecting the two optical surfaces of the absorption cell.

4. Detector. The photoelectric conversion element should not be exposed for a long time and should avoid strong light exposure or moisture and dust accumulation.

5. When the instrument stops working, the power must be cut off.

6. To avoid dust accumulation and contamination of the instrument, a dust cover should be covered when stopping work.

7. If the instrument is not in use temporarily, it should be powered on regularly for at least 20-30 minutes each time to keep the whole machine dry and maintain the performance of electronic components.
