Real time monitoring tool for rheological properties of high-temperature online viscometer based on vibration principle
Date: 2025-10-20Read: 1
Real time monitoring of fluid viscosity is a core parameter for controlling process quality in high-temperature industrial scenarios such as petroleum refining, metal melting and casting, and ceramic firing. The high-temperature online viscometer breaks through the limitations of traditional laboratory offline detection by directly integrating into production pipelines or reaction vessels. Its technical classification and special working principle make it a key tool for analyzing rheological properties in abnormal environments.

1、 Vibration Principle: Engineering Conversion of Fluid Dynamics Damping Effect
The core technology of high-temperature online viscometer is vibration measurement, which is based on the damping effect in fluid mechanics. The sensor probe is equipped with a micro oscillator, which vibrates at a fixed frequency (usually 100-500Hz) under electromagnetic excitation. When the probe is immersed in a high-temperature melt, the viscous force of the fluid exerts a damping effect on the oscillating plate, resulting in amplitude attenuation. By using a differential transformer displacement sensor to capture amplitude changes in real time, combined with a resonance frequency compensation algorithm, fluid dynamic viscosity can be derived. Experimental data shows that at a high temperature of 1700 ℃, the device can control the measurement error of silicone oil viscosity within ± 0.5%.
2、 Technical classification: Rotating and vibrating scene adaptation
According to the measurement principle, high-temperature online viscometers can be divided into two categories: rotary and vibratory. Rotating equipment calculates viscosity through the correlation between rotor torque and speed, which is suitable for high viscosity fluids such as asphalt and heavy oil. However, in high-temperature environments, rotor bearings are prone to thermal expansion, leading to measurement deviations. The vibration type equipment, with the advantage of no mechanical wear parts, performs better in monitoring high-temperature melts (such as glass melt and metal melt).
3、 Industrial grade characteristics: Integration of high-temperature resistant materials and anti-interference design
To adapt to abnormal working conditions, the equipment is constructed using special materials. Sensor probes are usually made of Hastelloy or ceramic coatings, which can withstand high temperatures above 350 ℃ and highly corrosive media. The split design separates the electronic transmitter from the sensor and transmits signals through a 10 meter four core shielded cable, effectively isolating the impact of high-temperature radiation on the circuit. In addition, the device is equipped with temperature compensation algorithms and signal filtering technology, which can eliminate interference factors such as pipeline vibration and fluid pulsation.
From metallurgical furnaces to petroleum cracking towers, high-temperature online viscometers are deeply integrated with industrial grade design through the principle of vibration, constructing a technical system for real-time monitoring of high-temperature fluid rheological properties. It not only improves the accuracy of process control, but also optimizes energy utilization efficiency through continuous data feedback, becoming an important technical support for the transformation of modern industry towards intelligence and green.
