The UV aging test chamber is a device used to simulate the UV radiation and condensation environment in natural sunlight, in order to accelerate the testing of non-metallic material aging. The main test methods are light exposure, rain exposure, and condensation, and the core requirements are accuracy, stability, and reproducibility. The UV aging test is most afraid of abnormal test data and cannot be accurately tested.
So, why does the UV aging test chamber have this problem? How to solve it? The following text will explore in detail the common types of faults, troubleshooting methods, and solutions for UV aging test chambers, helping users efficiently respond to and troubleshoot equipment failures.
Firstly, we need to confirm the troubleshooting logic of the UV aging test equipment, following the principle of "equipment first, sample second, foundation first, details second", and focusing on the operational status and testing process of the equipment.
Firstly, verify whether the basic parameter settings of the UV aging test chamber meet the standards. Confirm that the parameters such as test temperature, humidity, and ultraviolet radiation intensity are consistent with the standard requirements. If the parameter settings are incorrect, it is necessary to recalibrate and save the standard program. Next, check the status of the sample to confirm whether its size and thickness meet the testing specifications, whether there are pre-treatment defects such as stains and scratches on the surface, and whether there are material differences between different batches of samples, all of which may lead to deviations in the test results.
The conventional temperature and humidity standards for the UV aging test chamber are as follows. Some tests may be specified separately according to usage requirements and can be carefully checked:
temperature range
Conventional range: RT+10 ℃~70 ℃ (condensing mode) or 50 ℃~70 ℃ (lighting mode).
Special requirement: Some devices support a wider range of temperature regulation, but it needs to be confirmed based on specific models.
humidity range
General requirement: ≥ 90% RH (relative humidity), some equipment can reach ≥ 95% RH.
Control method: Humidity regulation is achieved through condensation or rain cycle.
Other key parameters
UV lamp: UVA (315-400nm) or UVB (280-340nm), with adjustable irradiation intensity of 0.1-1W/㎡ @ 340nm.
Sample spacing: The distance between the lamp tube and the sample is usually 50 ± 2mm or 70mm (center to center distance between the lamp tubes).
Diagnosis of operational status during the experiment, with a focus on monitoring the operation of the core components of the UV aging test chamber.
Firstly, check the light source system and observe whether the lamp tube has unstable reactions such as blackening and flickering. Use an radiometer to regularly test the irradiation intensity. If the intensity is more than 10% lower than the standard value, replace the same type of ultraviolet lamp tube.
Secondly, check the temperature and humidity control system to see if the sensors are loose and if the probe is obstructed by the sample. Use a calibrated temperature and humidity meter to compare the displayed values of the equipment. If the deviation exceeds ± 2 ℃ or ± 5% RH, clean the sensor and recalibrate it.
Thirdly, check the sample rack to confirm if the samples are securely fixed and if there are any obstructions to adjacent samples, ensuring that each sample can receive UV radiation evenly.
In addition, equipment maintenance and inspection after the experiment are also very important. The experimental equipment should have detailed personnel training and a scientific SOP process, including calibration, sample loading, sampling, cleaning, and recording. Dust accumulation and condensed water leakage are not allowed to prevent dust from reducing irradiation.
In summary, excellent equipment quality, scientific usage process, and strict maintenance management can improve the accuracy of UV aging tests, accurately simulate sample aging tests, and effectively help improve new material research and development.
