E-type thermocouple is a low-cost metal temperature sensor based on thermoelectric effect, consisting of nickel chromium alloy (positive electrode) and copper nickel alloy (negative electrode), suitable for precise measurement in the medium and low temperature range.
Performance Characteristics
High sensitivity: The electromotive force generated by every 1 ℃ temperature difference is suitable for detecting small temperature changes;
Environmental adaptability: Its antioxidant performance is superior to that of low-cost metal thermocouples such as iron constantan, and it is insensitive to corrosion in high humidity environments;
Precautions for use and maintenance
Installation requirements: The measuring end should be in full contact with the object being measured (insertion depth ≥ 10 times the diameter of the protective tube) to avoid errors caused by air gaps;
Cold end treatment: The cold end (junction box) should be kept away from high temperature areas. If it cannot be avoided, compensation wires should be used to extend it to a normal temperature environment;
Regular calibration: It is recommended to calibrate once a year for industrial scenarios and once every six months for laboratory precision measurements (using standard thermometers for comparison);
Corrosion protection: In corrosive environments, it is necessary to select corresponding corrosion-resistant protective pipes and regularly check whether the protective pipes are damaged;
Avoid interference: When wiring, stay away from strong electrical lines (such as frequency converters and motors) to prevent electromagnetic interference from causing signal drift.
Application scenarios
Industrial production: temperature monitoring of chemical reaction vessels, food processing equipment, plastic extruders, and low-temperature storage tanks;
Laboratory: Precise temperature measurement of low-temperature test chamber, environmental simulation chamber, and sample constant temperature device;
Livelihood field: air conditioning refrigeration system, cold chain of cold storage, temperature calibration of household appliances;
Special scenario: Measurement of medium and low temperatures under oxidizing atmosphere (such as low-temperature section of boiler flue and monitoring of electronic component heat dissipation).
