In which fields are copper resistance alloys commonly used
Date: 2025-08-21Read: 20
Copper resistance alloy is mainly used to make precision resistance components, strain gauges, and thermocouple materials, especially suitable for AC circuits. Its core functions include low temperature coefficient of resistance, high precision, and corrosion resistance, and are widely used in fields such as electronic measurement and industrial control.
Kangtong resistance alloy is a precision resistance alloy mainly composed of copper and nickel, with a small amount of manganese (or iron). Due to its stable temperature coefficient of resistance, good conductivity, and processing performance, it is widely used in the fields of resistors, strain gauges, thermocouple compensation wires, etc.
performance
Low temperature coefficient of resistance: This is its obvious advantage. At room temperature, the temperature coefficient of resistance is usually ± 20 × 10 ⁻⁶/℃ (even lower), which means that the resistance value changes very little when the temperature changes, ensuring the stability of the resistance element.
Moderate resistivity: about 0.48~0.52 Ω· mm ²/m, suitable for making medium precision resistors, balancing conductivity efficiency and resistance value adjustment requirements.
Good mechanical properties: good ductility, can be rolled into thin sheets or drawn into fine filaments (diameter can be as small as a few micrometers), easy to process into various shapes of resistive elements; High tensile strength, not easily broken.
Corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance: It has good chemical stability in atmospheric, freshwater and other environments, is not easily corroded or oxidized, and its performance deteriorates slowly after long-term use.
Excellent welding performance: It can weld well with metals such as copper and silver, making it easy to assemble circuits.
Application field
Precision resistor components: Manufacturing standard resistors, resistor components in precision instruments, and shunt resistor components, utilizing low temperature coefficient of resistance to achieve high-precision measurement.
Strain resistance element: As the main material of resistance strain gauges, it is used in electronic scales and industrial control systems to achieve accurate measurement of small deformations.
Thermocouple material: used for manufacturing thermocouples and thermocouple compensation wires, utilizing stable thermoelectric potential characteristics to achieve accurate temperature measurement.
Application of AC circuits: Suitable for use in AC circuits, such as precision potentiometers, sliding resistors, etc., to reduce the impact of AC electricity on resistance values.
