As the core equipment for water treatment and disinfection, the safety design of chlorine dioxide generators needs to be systematically standardized around explosion prevention, leak prevention, and emergency response to ensure personnel safety and environmental stability.
1、 Explosion proof Design Specification
Negative pressure operation and pressure control
The equipment needs to operate at standard atmospheric pressures ranging from -0.114MPa to 0.114MPa, with the concentration of ClO ₂ in the gas phase strictly controlled below 8%, and the gas phase space minimized to ensure that the residence time of the generated gas is less than 1 second. Adopting a two-stage grading reaction technique: the first stage controls the concentration of raw materials through low-temperature and low-speed reactions, while the second stage maintains the reaction rate through high-temperature and low concentration reactions to avoid local overheating and explosion. Install dual safety valves at critical locations to achieve dual safety during operation.
Explosion proof device and structural reinforcement
The equipment is equipped with a sensitive explosion-proof device that automatically releases pressure when there is an abnormal pressure; Explosion proof plugs are made of corrosion-resistant materials to prevent aging and failure. The fuselage needs to have seismic performance to cope with sudden internal pressure changes or external vibration impacts. Install flushing devices or gas-liquid separation devices in the exhaust pipeline to prevent crystallization blockage from causing positive pressure explosions.
2、 Design Specification for Leak Prevention
Sealing and monitoring system
The equipment interface adopts a double sealed structure, and components such as raw material tanks, pumps, valves, etc. are regularly inspected to ensure no leakage. Set up residual chlorine monitoring and automatic alarm systems, combined with job inspections, to achieve early detection of trace leaks.
Isolation and protective measures
Combustible materials are prohibited from being stored in the generator room, and emergency exhaust systems and fire-fighting facilities are equipped. Operators are required to wear protective clothing, goggles, and gas masks. When in contact with leaked materials, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
3、 Emergency response measures
Leakage response process
When there is a small amount of leakage, treat it with a mixture of sand, lime, or soda ash; When a large amount of leakage occurs, immediately cut off the valve of the raw material tank, open the ventilation system, rinse the equipment room with water after 20 minutes, and evacuate personnel to a distance of 500 meters upwind.
Emergency plan for explosion
When an explosion occurs, activate the emergency rescue plan and organize a professional team for rescue. If a fire occurs, use firefighting equipment to extinguish it and promptly call the police.
Training and Drills
Regularly conduct safety training to familiarize operators with equipment structure, operating procedures, and emergency measures. Organize emergency drills for leakage, explosion and other scenarios every quarter to enhance collaborative response capabilities.
