Temperature calibration: Ensure accurate measurement of thermocouples
Temperature calibration is the fundamental step in ensuring accurate data for the EL-92 contact heat resistance tester. The instrument uses a thermocouple as a temperature sensor, and its accuracy directly affects the reliability of the test results. During the calibration process, the thermocouple needs to be placed in a mixture of ice water and boiling water for two-point calibration. Ice water mixture provides a reference point of 0 ℃, while boiling water provides a reference point of 100 ℃ (at standard atmospheric pressure). By using these two fixed temperature points, the temperature voltage characteristic curve of the thermocouple can be plotted to ensure the accuracy of temperature readings in actual testing. It is worth noting that the instrument itself does not provide equipment for making ice cubes, and operators need to prepare their own ice water mixture. After completing the calibration, it is recommended to record the calibration data and establish a calibration file for subsequent tracking and comparison.
Load calibration: precise control of contact pressure
Load calibration is a key step in ensuring the accuracy of contact thermal testing. EL-92 performs load calibration through a specialized calibration arm component. During operation, the load sensor of the loading execution component needs to be removed and fixed to the calibration component. The calibration process uses standard weight blocks as the load reference, without the need for additional force sensors. This design simplifies the calibration process and reduces errors caused by sensor differences. When performing load calibration, it is necessary to ensure that the accuracy level of the weight blocks meets the requirements and that they are placed accurately to avoid the calibration results being affected by unbalanced loads or vibrations. After calibration is completed, it is recommended to conduct verification tests at different load points to ensure that the linearity and repeatability of the entire measurement range meet the requirements.

Torque calibration: ensuring the stability of rotation measurement
For testing scenarios involving torque measurement, EL-92 provides a specialized torque calibration scheme. During calibration, it is necessary to remove the torque sensor and fix it in a horizontal fixed position on the base. Then, use a vertical hanging foot to directly apply the calibration weight block to the sensor. This method calibrates the torque sensor using the standard torque generated by gravity to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results. Special attention should be paid to the verticality of the suspension feet and the center of gravity position of the weight block in torque calibration, as any slight angular deviation may introduce calibration errors. It is recommended to perform torque calibration in a windless environment and take the average of multiple measurements to improve the reliability of the calibration.
Calibration cycle and maintenance recommendations
To ensure the long-term high accuracy of the EL-92 contact heat resistance tester, it is recommended to establish a reasonable calibration cycle. Generally speaking, temperature calibration should be performed every six months, while load and torque calibration can be performed quarterly or semi annually depending on the frequency of use. In high-frequency use or harsh environments, the calibration cycle should be appropriately shortened. In addition to regular calibration, daily maintenance is also important. Keep the instrument clean to avoid dust and corrosive gases affecting sensor performance; Regularly check the connection lines to ensure good contact; The storage environment should be kept dry and at a constant temperature to avoid the impact of harsh temperature and humidity on the accuracy of the instrument. Through scientific calibration cycles and meticulous daily maintenance, the data accuracy of the EL-92 tester can be maximally guaranteed, providing reliable technical support for the evaluation of material contact heat resistance performance.
