PC based control technology

Nowadays, the concept proposed by Beifu in its early days has become a standard for many automation technologies and has been successfully introduced into the market. Beckhoff has recently launched the AM8000 series servo motor with flange size F1 and edge length of 40mm. The motor has three lengths to choose from, with a torque range of 0.22 to 0.55 Nm, allowing high dynamic drive solutions to meet minimal space requirements.
The latest AM801x and AM811x series servo motors have low rotor moment of inertia and four times overload capacity, which can meet the highest requirements for motion control even in the smallest installation space. This makes them very suitable for applications with rapid cyclic changes, for example. In addition, the rated voltage of these two series of motors is different. The AM811x motor can be paired with servo motor terminal modules EL7201-0010 (output current of 2.8 ARMS at 50 V DC) and EL7211-0010 (output current of up to 4.5 ARMS at 50 V DC) to form a very compact and economical servo system. The AX5000 series EtherCAT servo drive (1/2 channel, maximum current of 3 A) can be used to control AM801x servo motors with 230 V AC.
The motor is available in models with no backlash permanent magnet brake or with guide keyway. In order to provide maximum motor performance in the smallest space, the motors are equipped with an absolute value encoder and use single cable technology (OCT). After adopting OCT technology, the power and position feedback signals of the motor only need to be transmitted through one cable, significantly reducing installation and component costs. Motors with multi turn absolute value encoders can also be provided upon request.
Benefits brought to users
Due to the integration of multi turn absolute value encoders in the AM801x and AM811x motors, the absolute position of the driver can be known when the shaft is turned on, without the need for feedback function. Therefore, the drive does not need to refer to the final position when the system starts. In addition, not only can the position of the axis be determined, but the current displacement velocity can also be measured. The drive location is saved in EEPROM without battery buffering. With these features, the new motor is highly suitable for feeding and moving axes, as there is no longer a need for limit switches and additional encoders.
Due to the electronic nameplate of the motor containing mechanical and electronic related data such as serial number, type, and manufacturer data, these new compact motors can be quickly and reliably identified in the factory network. The integrated error memory can diagnose the motor online.
In addition, the AM801x series servo motor can be used in conjunction with the TwinSAFE tab AX5805 to implement safe driving functions even in the smallest installation space. This not only allows for safe shutdown of the moving axis and feed axis, but also enables programming according to the EN ISO13849-1 to PLe standard, including safety movement functions. The motor can switch without torque and monitor aspects such as speed, position, and rotation direction. Therefore, the moving axis and feed axis can now be integrated into the TwinCAT system, greatly improving the usability of the entire machine.
