Daily maintenance of xenon lamp aging test chamber
Date: 2025-10-21Read: 0

The core of daily maintenance for the xenon lamp aging test chamber is to protect the core components (xenon lamp, filter, cooling system), maintain a stable testing environment, and avoid affecting the accuracy of test data due to component wear or contamination. The specific maintenance content is divided into cycles and components as follows:

1、 Daily maintenance (required before and after the experiment)
Appearance and condition inspection
Check whether the equipment casing and observation window are damaged, and whether the door seal is intact (aging of the door seal can cause temperature/humidity leakage, affecting the test conditions). If the door seal is found to be deformed or cracked, it should be replaced in a timely manner.
Check if the control panel indicator lights and display screen are functioning properly, and if there are any error codes (such as xenon lamp malfunction or temperature exceeding the standard). If there are any errors, troubleshoot the issue before starting the device.
Sample cabin cleaning
After the experiment is completed, empty the sample and residual debris in the sample chamber, wipe the inner wall of the chamber with a clean soft cloth dipped in water to remove dust, sample debris or stains (avoid using corrosive cleaning agents to prevent damage to the coating inside the chamber).
Check if the sample holder is stable, free from deformation or looseness, and ensure that subsequent samples are placed flat.
Preliminary inspection of cooling system
If it is a water-cooled equipment, check whether the cooling water level is within the specified range (usually above 2/3 of the water tank scale), and whether the water quality is clear (turbidity needs to be replaced); If it is an air-cooled type, check if there are any debris blocking the air outlet of the cooling fan and clean the surface dust with a brush.
2、 Weekly maintenance (core component maintenance)
Xenon lamp and filter maintenance
After turning off the power of the device and cooling it down, open the xenon lamp chamber cover and check whether the xenon lamp tube is blackened, broken or the filament is aging. If the lamp tube is close to its rated life (usually 1000-1500 hours, refer to the equipment manual), a spare lamp tube should be prepared in advance.
Gently wipe the surface of the filter (such as ultraviolet filter, visible light filter) with a dust-free cloth dipped in specialized cleaning agent (or anhydrous ethanol) to remove oil and dust (filter contamination can change the intensity of light radiation and affect the authenticity of the test), and avoid scratching with force when wiping.
Calibration and inspection of temperature and humidity sensors
Check the deviation between the displayed value of the temperature and humidity sensor and the standard calibration equipment. If the deviation exceeds the allowable range (such as temperature ± 1 ℃, humidity ± 5% RH), record the data and contact professional personnel for calibration. High precision testing will not be conducted temporarily.
Cleaning of the circulatory system
Clean the water circulation pipeline filter (water-cooled type) inside the equipment, remove the filter element, and rinse with clean water to remove impurities (clogged filter element can cause a decrease in cooling efficiency and xenon lamp is prone to overheating and damage); Air cooled equipment needs to clean the dust inside the heat dissipation grille, which can be blown clean with compressed air (pressure not exceeding 0.3MPa to avoid damaging the fan).
3、 Monthly maintenance (deep performance guarantee)
Verification of Xenon Lamp Operating Parameters
Check whether the working current and voltage of the xenon lamp are stable and within the rated range through the device operation interface (excessive parameter fluctuations can shorten the lamp tube life and affect radiation energy output). If the fluctuations are abnormal, check the power supply system or contact the manufacturer for maintenance.
Sealing and insulation inspection
Check whether the connectors of the power and control lines of the equipment are secure, whether they are loose or the insulation layer is damaged (to avoid the risk of short circuit), and use a multimeter to detect the grounding resistance of the equipment casing (≤ 4 Ω to ensure electrical safety).
Water tank and pipe maintenance (exclusive for water-cooled models)
Replace the cooling water in the water tank (it is recommended to use deionized water or distilled water to avoid scale formation), and add an appropriate amount of rust inhibitor (according to the instructions to prevent pipeline corrosion).
Check for any signs of water leakage at the water pipe connection. If there is any leakage, tighten the interface or replace the sealing gasket.
4、 Long term disuse maintenance (not used for more than 1 month)
Thoroughly clean and dry
Empty the sample compartment and water tank, dry the moisture inside the compartment and pipelines with a dry cloth to prevent moisture from causing rust or mold growth in the components.
Core component protection
Remove the xenon lamp tube and store it in a dedicated packaging box away from light (to avoid long-term installation in the equipment and environmental impact). The filter should be wrapped in a dust-free bag.
Environment and Storage
Turn off the device, cover it with a dust cover, and place it in a dry, ventilated, and non corrosive gas environment. Regularly (every 2 weeks) open the dust cover and ventilate for 1 hour to prevent internal moisture.
