Working principle and technical parameters of conductivity electrode
Date: 2025-10-26Read: 1
Conductivity electrodeIt is an electrode used to measure the conductivity value in solutions and can be widely used for continuous monitoring of conductivity values in solutions in industries such as thermal power, chemical, environmental protection, and pharmaceuticals.

Conductivity electrodeThe working principle is based on the conductive properties of ions in a solution. When the electrode is immersed in the measured solution, the electrolyte in the solution dissociates into charged ions, which move directionally under the action of an electric field to form an electric current. Electrodes reflect ion concentration by measuring the conductivity (reciprocal of resistivity) of a solution, thereby determining the relative content of electrolytes in the solution.

Technical Specifications:

Electrode constant(K)Reflects the amplification factor of electrode to solution conductivity, which is a fixed value when measuring different electrolyte solutions.

Type: CommonKValues include0.01、0.1、1、10Wait, choose according to the measurement range.

Response time: The time required for the electrode to come into contact with the sample and output a stable signal.

Importance: The shorter the response time, the higher the measurement efficiency.

Linear range: The interval in which the electrode output signal is linearly related to the input conductivity.

Meaning: The wider the linear range, the wider the applicable scenarios.

Working temperature range: the environmental temperature range within which the electrode can reliably operate.

Difference: The working temperature range of electrodes made of different materials varies and needs to be selected according to the application scenario.

Application areas: Mainly used for water quality monitoring, chemical production, environmental monitoring, food processing, pharmaceutical industry, etc. By measuring the conductivity of solutions, evaluating water purity, controlling chemical reaction processes, monitoring environmental pollution levels, etc.
