Three key points to consider when selecting a laser alignment instrument
Date: 2025-11-05Read: 0
Laser alignment instrumentThe selection of equipment directly determines its accuracy and adaptability to the usage scenario. Choosing the right equipment can reduce the cost of later debugging and the risk of errors. The following three core points need to be carefully considered.
1、 Accurate matching of measurement range
The measurement range should be fully compatible with the specifications of the equipment to be aligned, avoiding "overusing" or "insufficient range".
If used for small and medium-sized motors (shaft diameter 50-150mm), choose the basic model with a measurement distance of 0.1-5m and a shaft diameter adaptation of 50-300mm.
If used for large fans and compressors (shaft diameter>300mm, distance between two shafts>5m), industrial grade models with a measurement distance of ≥ 10m and support for large shaft diameters should be selected to ensure complete data coverage.
2、 Prioritize locking accuracy indicators
Accuracy is the core performance of the instrument, and two key parameters need to be considered to avoid equipment vibration and wear caused by insufficient accuracy.
Angle accuracy: Priority should be given to models with an angle resolution of ≤ 0.001 °, as excessive angle errors can directly affect the results of parallelism and coaxiality calibration.
Linear accuracy: The linear resolution should be ≤ 1 μ m/m, especially for high-speed rotating equipment such as turbines. Excessive linear error can exacerbate bearing wear and shorten equipment life.
3、 Adapt to actual usage scenarios
There are significant differences in the requirements for device functionality and environmental adaptability in different usage scenarios, and targeted selection is necessary.
Environmental adaptation: If used in environments with high dust and humidity such as workshops or outdoors, a model with a protection level of ≥ IP54 should be selected to prevent dust and moisture from entering the interior and affecting sensor accuracy.
Function adaptation: If frequent mobile calibration is required (such as multi workshop equipment maintenance), lightweight (weight<3kg) models with wireless data transmission should be prioritized to improve operational convenience; If data archiving and analysis are required, it is necessary to confirm whether the device supports exporting reports by connecting to a computer.
