Guidelines for Replacement and Maintenance of UV Aging Test Chamber Lamp Tubes
Date: 2025-12-11Read: 0
This guide is applicable to mainstream models of UV aging test chamber lamps, aiming to standardize the operation process, extend the lamp life, and ensure the accuracy of test data. It can be directly used for the preparation of equipment operation manuals.
-
safety protectionWear anti-static gloves and goggles to avoid direct skin contact with the glass surface of the lamp tube (oil on the hands can accelerate the aging of the lamp tube); Prepare spare lamps of the same model, Phillips screwdriver, anhydrous ethanol, and dust-free wiping cloth.
-
Power off the equipmentTurn off the main power switch of the test chamber, unplug the power cord plug, and waitMore than 30 minutesEnsure that the lamp tube and equipment are completely cooled inside to prevent high-temperature burns.
- Open the cover of the test chamber, remove the sample holder and internal protective baffle, and expose the lamp tube installation bracket.
- Pinch the lamp sockets at both ends of the old lamp tube and gently pull it out to detach the lamp tube pins from the bracket slot; If the lamp tube is stuck, do not forcefully pull it. Instead, wrap the ends of the lamp tube with a dust-free cloth and slowly shake it before removing it.
- Record the cumulative usage time of old light tubes and archive them for future reference.
- Dip a dust-free wiping cloth into a small amount of anhydrous ethanol and wipe the surface of the new lamp tube to remove any residual protective film and dust from the factory,Install only after complete evaporation of ethanol.
- Align the pins at both ends of the new lamp tube with the bracket slot and push them parallel into the lamp holder, ensuring that the pins are in close contact with the contacts without looseness or tilting.
- Reset the protective barrier and sample holder to their original positions, and close the cover of the test chamber.
- Connect the power and set it upLow irradiance modeRun for 30 minutes and observe whether the lamp emits light evenly, whether there is flickering or abnormal noise.
- Use an radiometer to measure the irradiance value inside the box. If it deviates from the set value, calibrate it through the equipment control system to ensure compliance with the test standard requirements.
-
Cleaning cycle: Every50 hoursClean once after the experiment; If there is a lot of dust in the testing environment, shorten the cleaning time to every 30 hours.
-
Cleaning MethodAfter power-off cooling, gently wipe the surface of the lamp tube with a dust-free cloth dipped in anhydrous ethanol to remove dust and oil stains; Do not use alkaline cleaners or hard cloths to avoid scratching the glass.
-
Reduce frequent start stop cyclesTry to run a single test continuously and avoid switching on and off repeatedly in a short period of time (each start stop will cause filament impact loss); If you need to pause the experiment, prioritize selecting the device's "standby mode" instead of directly turning off the power.
-
Control the ambient temperatureEnsure that the heat dissipation port of the test chamber is unobstructed, and the temperature inside the chamber is maintained within the rated range of the equipment (RT+10 ℃~70 ℃) to avoid high temperature accelerating the aging of the lamp electrode.
-
Duration recordRecord the activation time of each lamp in the device operation log to achieve1200 hoursAfterwards, the irradiance was measured using an radiometer before each experiment.
-
Change thresholdWhen the irradiance decays to the initial valueBelow 70%When the lamp tube turns black, flashes, or emits uneven light, replace it immediately to avoid affecting the accuracy of the test data.
- During the replacement and maintenance process, the power must be completely cut off and live operation is strictly prohibited.
- Waste light tubes belong to hazardous waste and need to be placed in dedicated recycling containers and handed over to professional institutions for disposal. They cannot be discarded at will.
- When installing a new lamp tube, it is forbidden to forcefully squeeze the middle of the lamp tube to prevent the glass from breaking.
