How many steps are involved in the calibration process of a density balance
Date: 2025-08-07Read: 28
density balanceAdopting high-precision electromagnetic force balance force sensors and high-performance single-chip microprocessor systems, it is an electronic balance that integrates accuracy, stability, multifunctionality, and automation, which can meet all laboratory density measurement and quality analysis requirements. Simply equip the density measurement component on the balance to accurately measure solid density, with simple, direct, and clear operation.
The following is the calibration process for a density balance:
1、 Environmental preparation and preheating
1. Environmental conditions: Place the density balance on a stable table that is level, free from vibration and airflow interference, and avoid direct sunlight or proximity to heat sources; The ambient temperature should be controlled at around 20 ℃, the humidity should be kept below 50%, and kept clean and dry.
2. Horizontal adjustment: Observe the built-in level of the balance, adjust the foot bolts or horizontal adjustment feet to make the bubble located in the center of the ring.
3. Preheating: After turning on the power, preheat according to the instructions (at least 30 minutes) and wait for the sensor to stabilize before use.
2、 Calibration operation
1. Built in calibration (if supported): Follow the built-in calibration program of the balance (such as pressing the "CAL" key), place standard weights according to the prompts to complete automatic calibration.
2. External calibration (manual required): Use standard weights (such as 100g) for calibration, and adjust the error according to the instructions to meet the accuracy requirements.
3. Verification after calibration: After completing the calibration, the calibration results need to be verified. The common method is to use other samples different from the standard liquid for measurement and check if the results meet expectations.
3、 Precautions and Maintenance
1. Operating standards: Avoid weighing volatile, corrosive, or excessively cold/hot items, and use a sealed container to prevent damage to the balance; When weighing, move gently to reduce airflow and vibration interference.
2. Maintenance: Clean the scale pan and shell with a soft cloth after each use. When not in use for a long time, unplug the power and cover it with a dust cover; Regular factory calibration (domestic products are recommended to be calibrated every six months, while imported products can be extended to 1-2 years).
Through strict environmental preparation, meticulous calibration operations, and comprehensive maintenance measures, the high-precision advantage of density balance can be fully utilized to provide accurate and reliable density data support for material research and quality testing.
